  1. Well looks like I have the 1.667 ratio on my 1990 defender 110 which had a 2.5NA and now I have replaced it with a Defender 200TDi engine plus a roverdrive DX overdrive. Yet to get the landy out from the garage, can you tell me what I can expect from this combination? Does having a 1.667 ratio mean I have better torque for hauling stuff?
  2. Whats the advantage/disadvantage of the 1.667:1 to the 1.410:1?
  3. thanks les. will shorten it by 28mm. The rad is a def 200tdi rad and not a disco.
  4. I just had all the wire looms changed on my 110 which had a 2.5na and now a def 200tdi engine. Thank god I have a decent auto electrician who did the job here in India.
  5. Guys, am doing a engine swap on my 1990 Defender 110 which had a 2.5na and now I have fitted a defender 200tdi with its original radiator and intercooler. However I after fitting the rad/IC the whole assembly seems very high and I cannot close the bonnet. Is this correct height? Or do i have to cut off the part that holds the rad/IC bottom plate rests on by an inch or so. Am totally confused. Also the top rad/IC plate does not have the studs to put the fan cover and bolt it. Would appreciate your help. Does anyone have a picture of a defender 200tdi rad/ic pictures that can be of help to me as it is in their landys?
  6. Hi! Will this also fit my old 1990 def 110 (Had a 2.5Na and now a Def 200tdi engine). Must check to see how many splines it has.
  7. I am swapping my 2.5na with a Def 200tdi along with the 200tdi rad/intercooler. As in India its becomes very hot. I have been advised by Kenlowe to have a 14" electric fan plus the original viscious fan. Is it possible to have both. Also as I will be getting an A/c for the 110, is it better to mount the kenlowe inside (before the rad) or on the outside after the rad/intercooler and the A/c cooler. Am also looking out for an extended grill as its there on the new defenders. Does anyone know where I can source that as then I will have enough place to put everything in.
  8. Where can I get a brand new MICROCAT CD/CDS for sale or purchase & will these work on Windows 7?
  9. Thanks a ton mate, appreciate your efforts. Wish I was in your place. I love the cold and can stand any amount of it rather than the heat here in Bangalore, India.
  10. Does the new nov 2009 microcat work on windows 7. Could not get it going on my window vista. Would it be better on window xp?
  11. I am also thinking of changing my rear sliding windows on my 1990 defender 110 station wagon to either a fixed glass ones or if I can get new rear sliding windows. Where can I source new sliding windows. Also there is a felt strip to prevent rattle between the windows, does anyone know how to insert a new felt?

  14. Was just curious to know whats the most powerful diesel engine that can be plonked into a defender 110 with an LT 77 gearbox. Especially when money is not an issue?
  15. Thats what I am planning on doing once I get my Def 200TDI in a few days. Is it just a simple drop in. Where can I get more info on this swap?
  16. Thanks for your reply. Actually I am in the process of getting a def 200tdi engine soon. But till then I want to know why my mileage suddenly dropped & why the Landy is consuming so much of fuel. What is the way to tune the fuel pump?
  17. Hi! Guys, Searched the forum, but could not get anything. Was getting awesome mileage on my 2.5na 110 and after giving it for service the mileage has dropped verrryyyyyyy much. IS there any way I can tune the 2.5na for better mileage. Sometimes I can see the needle go down gradually. There are no leaks at all except a few where the injector meets the engine. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. Hi! I have a 110 2.5NA, recently my water temp sensor packed up (thanks to mechanic who turned the flat blade and destroyed it). Hate driving without knowing the temp of the engine. The temp gauge is working fine though. Replaced it with PRC6663 - WATER TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER and found that the needle would not go over 10% of the white area. After maybe two hours it went to about 20% of the white area. Thought something was amiss. Checked the wire and connection which was ok. Replaced the PRC 6663 with 560794 - WATER / OIL TEMP.TRANSMITTER and this time something really crazy happens which is:- On starting the engine yesterday from cold, the gauge slowly rose up. So I switched it off and this morning at 5:30AM, started my 110 and the gauge shot to 50% of the gauge in less than a minute, funny. After a small drive of less than a KM, the gauge was showing the needle at the end of the white area. Went for my morning walk for an hour and returned and started her up again and up the needle goes. This time I took a 2 KM route and guess what the needle enters the orange area. Can someone explain what the hell is happening. Dont have the first transmitter part number. The above transmitters are brand new and the temp gauge is working fine, the cables & connectors are all ok. On LR series.com I saw this:- PRC6663 - WATER TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER (supposed to be for 2.5NA) 560794 - WATER / OIL TEMP.TRANSMITTER (using right now) PRC2505 - THERMAL TRANSMITTER OIL OR WATER Can someone please tell me which is the exact one? And why this is happening.
  19. Whats thats brass switch on the transfer box? The first red circle?
  20. Just changed my master clutch cylinder from a local replacement to the original OEM from Land Rover and noticed that when I had the local one, the clutch had a huge travel while with the new one the clutch travel is less and get only activated halfway down and not like before which was all the way from the start. Do the nuts have to be at the end of the thread or is it ok as in this picture. would appreciate your help on this.
  21. Hi! Guys, Have a 110 2.5NA & I need to know these part numbers: Does anyone know this part number: Its the brake switch which is located at the back of the brake pedal box. Its the plastic switch with a rubber backing in the picture. Also need the part number for the bonnet locking plate:- Does anyone have the part number of the extended front panel (where the Defender sticker has been stuck on ) My panel is flush with the wings, but I have seen other landys with a extended panel. I am planning on putting a intercooler and hence want an extended panel.
