  1. Morning. Will 235 70 r16 land rover alloys fit a 1998 110 CSW? (I know nothing of this dark magic) Thanks all Tim
  2. This is what you want: http://www.parallels.com/uk/products/desktop/ Much better than VPC
  3. You are not a million miles away from the solution actually
  4. I reckon this happened while I was over on the west coast.
  5. That are actually for propellers. The Special Vehicle unit created a model called the Defender Trout for owners who wanted to explore even further off the beaten track. They were never very popular in the UK but they were very popular with logging companies in Finland and rice farmers in Indonesia. I believe you can still find them if you scour the back pages of LRO.
  6. You are a sick man. A sick, sick man. (Excelent, they have more than 10 available)
  7. More the sort of thing you say to your mate while you are leaning against the work bench with a mug of tea than a question, but what a useful diagnostic tool a digital camera can be! Check this out: after the -18 temperatures a couple of weeks back pushed this core plug out (its the one that site right below the manifold on a 2.5 NAD) I was pleased that I was able to leaver it back in with a long bar and a smear of blueseal. However, after testing I noticed there was a leak. I could feel it was properly seated but I tried to leaver it a little more but with no effect. I added some more sealant to see what effect that would have but there was none. There was obviously no way I could get my head in to have a look and using a mirror and torch can be awkward at best but a little digital camera - perfect - and the cause obvious. Anyway - just saying! (another biscuit?)
  8. Truffle oil is really nice on pasta. My mate makes a really nice home made basil infused olive oil that he give away at Christmas. Quite like tractor oil or Tesco 20/50 for the old LR, Whatever is on special for the newer one.
  9. Just teasing mate - if you notice a difference, good. Was it easy to fit?
  10. I thought people with serious 'authority issues' joined the police.. People with 'run of the mill' authority issues usually just get tattoos or by teeshirts with rude words on them.
  11. These are suppose to be quite good:
  12. Funnily enough I have just had to use my red flashers this morning as I got ready to pull a car out of a ditch... and the way the snow is coming down I wont be surprised if I have to use that again for the same purpose later..
  13. Bit concerned now as in my Land Rover 'bag' there is a full set of Gortex DPM gear.. only for use at times of heavy rain or English invaders of course.
  14. Ill tell you what though, my blacksmith has rescued a few stuck artics around these parts with his old 110 truck with a 300tdi fitted (it looks like something out of mad max) - hes quite famous for it!
  15. I have a couple of alternating red led strobe flashers fitted to the inside of my rear windows that I control with a little switch under the dash (they are about the size of a small pack of playing cards). I fitted them because I live up a farm track on a very fast stretch of road that is the only overtaking point for a few miles in either direction. It is not unusual for someone to try to overtake you or a couple of cars or a truck behind you while you are getting ready to take a slow right, or you have something slow in front of you where your indication may be taken as a sign of overtaking. In fact my wife has had to abort a turn on more than one occasion because a logging truck is coming up on her so fast she was worried it wouldn't stop in time - something any of you who live in a rural setting like that will recognise. They are also useful when blocking the road while moving sheep, the road is blocked or you have to stop for whatever legitimate reason in a less than ideal location.
  16. If you get offered 250 for one of those lumps I would snap their hand off - reconditioned or not. Not that they are a bad engine by any means. They seem to go for around half that in these parts. 13J's and 'beer money' are often referred to in the same breath.
  17. Changing the subject a bit, I was somewhat surprised to see Tesco's sell a value 20/50 oil for 1.80 a liter... (maybe it was half a liter). I can only get this in Halfords up here..
  18. There is some good advice here chaps - thanks. I was just going to use this:
  19. Can someone please tell me where I can get some replacement fluid to fill up my rear lights? I have just taken mine off to clean the connectors and it all ran out...
  20. Afternoon all. Will these TD5 headlight surrounds: Fit my 1998 station wagon? Thanks Tim
  21. Bloody hell! How much?! How about one of these? Cheap and effective (though best to take the gold thing out) http://pro.corbis.com/images/42-15238821.j...9-194922D6B81F}
  22. Ohh, a rabbit fur dash. now you are on to something...
