  2. If you got the B6304 engine (Volvo 3lt 960 204 bhp) try and find a lump dated 95 on, earlier ones were know for cracked blocks, (r/hand side, about 2 inc down from the top of the block !!!)

  6. Sorry, Mark, as you say a "marmite" colour,, certainly not for me
  7. Mm, mine don't and yes, it does say Defender on the back
  8. Yep, was at Mike Wolf, should have came and said hello !! and bought a beer in return for those Spots and rib show tickets
  9. Sorry, bad idea, the VW lump fitted to 740/940 etc was junk !!
  10. Thanks Mark,, Was very noticeable coming back from Gloucester the other evening, OK warm weather, but needed to keep the AC on, blowing through the lower vent, to cool that area, ie transmission tunnel/seat box, The metal part of the handbrake lever, was just touchable, with no AC
  11. Sorry Ralph,, I always go the other way,, Strap the body down, no rolling about in the bends, and vast improvement with crosswinds !!
  12. As in tonnes ,do you mean Jim P, David W, and Chris W to name only a few Mmm, Maybe HH is right with the post below, (nicked from Pugwash,s show thread) wonder where that figure came from ??
  13. Since when did we have a bank holiday in October ???
  14. Here-Here, A D3 will not do the work i required from a vehicle !! forgetting the reliability issues ie take the boat's mainsail full length, with out folding, would not get 16 wheels/tyres on the roof, take a 3 meter awning on the side, ete, etc
  15. Thanks John,, Mines just coming up to 2k, all i can say, if it was not for the A/C, it would be a tad on the warm side inside, 3rd time i have noticed it now, in all cases, after a hour or so, cruising on the motorway, plus i struggle to get over 20 mpg !! which is down to the sport's figuars !!! Just wondering if after a hour of so, the gearbox is "tightening up" somehow !!,
  16. Now, that sounds like a good idea Paul,, Learn how to get stuck properly
  17. Ditto Mog,, the 06 TD5 was covered in the stuff, Darn dog, (blond Retriever) loves to lie under them, and use to come out covered !!! , not so the 07 !!! My have a word, when it goes back in for the ABS/Traces light again !!
  18. Yes James, all ok this end !! Staying up their both night as well
  19. Dew, my 200 TDi did the same if i remember, but never noticed it much ? on the TD5's !!!
  20. Those running 07 Defender, have you notice the gearbox hot ?? Mine seam, after 50/60 miles on the motorway, say 60/70 mph, the transmission tunnel/handbrake/Seat box area get very warm,,virtually untouchable by hand, ?? OK when the AC on, as the bottom vent blow direct to the area, Anyone else got the same ??
  21. ? Why, improvement all round !! what do you find wrong, ?? See post above, Maps belong to the last century !!! So use a base model,, how are D3 and Defender close ? price wise, two different markets, a D3 is no use for the job the Defender get put to , Thanks I am
  22. John,, Think he is on about the none factory sat-nav, fitted to mine, ?? Which over the last 48 hours has proved its wait in gold !!, delivering 20 + ton of bottled watter and other supplied in and around Gloucester, tap in the post code, and job done, saves hours !!
  23. Guys,, yep, mines the same, JST and i noticed a few months back, the 110 SW is the same
  24. No, Stephen, just the cover, nought under it !!!
  25. Correct, r/hand side, I have a safari TD5 snorkel, which i will get round to trying to fit sometime, Not striped the intake down yet, but does look different to TDi/TD5 versions, with some sort of housing inside the actual grill ??
