New seals will take a while to compress and take up the new shape. So I would bear with the new ones for a while.

I'd have to sell the house and still couldn't find that. That price will be based on what it cost them not what it's worth. You see this time and again people who think what it cost them is what it's worth. It will be for sale for a long time until they realise what it's worth is what someone is willing to pay not what it cost. Good luck to them if they find a sucker willing to pay that........

Bear in mind the front bearing also gets all the cam belt loadings.

We are under a similar thought process and looking for something that is easily taken with us across Russia and Asia without the added weight to the main vehicle.
It might be worth looking into trailer IVA and then registration for the trailer because when I went Russia we were told they don't understand that British trailers don't have their own registration and have been known to not let them in.

I've got some stainless M30's in the shed, we used to bolt up oyster chain plates with them.

I left the radiator and frame on the chassis and still connected to the engine. Same with the power steering just let the reservoir dangle on the pipes. In fact I lifted the whole radiator, steering, engine, gearbox and transfer box from one chassis to the other but it was on the limit of sensible on the crane and would of balanced better if I had room to do it from the side.

Wiring loom at the bulkhead, engine and rear lights need disconnecting, fuel lines off the filter or filter off the bulkhead, brake lines at bulkhead, I normally pull the clutch slave cylinder out and cable tie it to the bulkhead. Fuel filler needs letting go and battery cables from memory but I'm sure I've missed something.

I love everything about what you're doing, please keep the updates coming.
There's been precious few interesting builds in recent years, even YouTube is devoid unless you like yank tanks. Don't get me wrong the builds are still out there they just don't seem to bother posting about them. When I built my ibex I did a thread for pretty much the same reason Stephen does, to document and allow others to chip in. So yes please keep it up.

I've never checked because I'm more interested in clearing the radius arm. So it wouldn't surprise me if they were different.

High, either of the other two are pushing your luck. You will more than likely get away with medium but it only takes a cold snap over night and you might struggle to start in the morning.

There are plenty of aftermarket radius arms I wouldn't put near a truck. I doubt you have anything to worry about. You engineering is on a level with (if a little heavier) the likes of the flying spanners and I saw what they did to their trucks.

There is a thick and a thin radius arm so I suspect you've got a set of each but the part numbers should be different.

I’m near Preston - so perhaps a brew stop for you.
Where do you kip at Loch Lomond ? I’m looking for a camp spot near there myself ..
We normally pass your around 11ish on the way up, so probably best on the return.
To be honest loch Lomond is a pain now camping is either permit or campsite only from memory. We normally only crash in the car for a couple of hours in a lay-by. Our stop is purely driven by time so we've stopped anywhere from gretna to fort William depending on how much traffic we've hit.

1+ for new name to be Sid.

Looks well built. I'll gloss over the hitch mod implications. I like the ability to leave the tent set up and go exploring. We're on our second camping trailer the first was great but we changed direction. The current is just a Sankey, ply lined with a battery system and lid.

@miketomcatNext time you are on your way to the Hebrides, call in 😊
Definitely where are you, we normally drive through the night to loch Lomond ish, grab a couple of hours kip then on up to uig and the ferry. Back down is normally an early ferry the drive till home. I doubt we'll make it up there this year though.

Probably best to point out I've done Southampton to Narvik (Norway) and Southampton to sliven (Bulgaria) and back both in sub zero temperature in my tomcat (no sound deadening or insulation). I've also done Southampton to st Petersburg and back in a 90. I daily the ibex and regularly go to the Hebrides in it. So comfortable quiet vehicles aren't really my thing.Â

I don't know what you mean. I had a sensible car........once, and absolutely hated it for all the reasons it was sensible and good.
But I do like the iveco apart from the most recent jelly mould version.

I've always cleaned up blocks with wet and dry on a piece of perspex. I've been known to do heads too, both Ali and steel but I always check with a straight edge after. Never had issues that haven't been attributed to something else.
