  1. Tried that, its a T-MAX 13500, brake spring is all twisted up, cant find a replacement even with my aussie contact trying to call T-MAX HQ.
  2. Yep, all good points. There were 2 factors that got me looking at it. 1) a cheap BNIB Warrior hydo was up for sale. 2) i have very limited space for the winch and some electrics didnt fit, the hydro has a smaller 'motor'. But since the deal has disappeared and the comments above, i'll replace with lecky.
  3. Except I do already have the powerpack on the truck, as it lifts the cab & body jacks.
  4. Yeah will ponder. I have no room for an engine pump. PTO is possible but finding the adaptor for my volvo transfer case is not easy. I should mention its not for competition, but rather self-rescue on my overlander. I could live with slow if it gets me out eventually.
  5. Was just pondering fitting a hydraulic winch to replace my broken 13500 electric. One option is a Warrior, with the following specs. I have a power pack which has 200b 5l/min Now i presume pressure gives the pull force and flow gives the line speed? So will my power pack give the full 10000 but at a slow line speed?
  6. Interestingly when i was pricing up the system, i notived that the Victron multiplus 48v was about 1/2 the price of the 12/24v version, so with a bit of waiting around for a good deal, i bought 16x 105Ah lipos for much less than the cost of a 12v system.
  7. Will need a decent autonomy if overlanding. 6kW/h is not that high, a lot of overlanders will recommend at least 10kW/h
  8. A long overdue update. The rear body is on, and I've been working on the interior during the inclement weather. 200l water tank, Truma combi heater/boiler, Victron system with 6000Wh of Lion storage & 400W of solar panels. And the addition today a nice s/h awning. (Sorry about the pics, don't know why the forum rotated them, cant see how to turn back)
  9. Yeah no way i'm putting that hook in my machine, its s big bugger.
  10. Well thats my brake spring, dont think it should be that shape. I dont even know what shape it should be to try and make one... Problem is i've found it devilshly difficult to get T-max parts. I think Bearmach used to be, thats how i got a motor last time. I've found that BHW do some t-max winches in the UK, bu they dont have spares for this one, and inform me that there have been 2 brake revisions since this, requiring a modded drum πŸ™„ I'm tapping up and aussie contact, as thats where t-max are from. I still dont understand how that could cause freespool though.
  11. No, pin is fine and the sleeve is moving correctly. On reassembling its just the item 5 fibre thrust washer i'm confused on, only 1 is shown in the diagram, but i have 2.
  12. So mine went clunk and was permanently in freespool. I thought the motor linkange had snapped (it did that before and i had it welded), but no. I took the gearbox apart and everything is fine in there, except some very old packed grease. So I disassebled the GB and washed the old grease out. Bit of a mystery that nothing is broken, but i thought i'd regrease it and reassemble. Which is the point where i wish i'd taken photos. The exploded diagram i have, and several more ive found since dont exactly match my version. I can work out pretty much how it goes, but i have 2 fibre thrust washers which i'm not sure of the correct positions - anyone know? And any ideas why it wouldnt go into drive or brake when nothing is broken inside? (attached the closest diagram i can find)
  13. I cant remove the hook, its fitted and i didnt want to deform the rope, thats why i was thinking dishwasher - it'll give a good clean but not twist it up
  14. Have given mine a bath in the sink with some fairy liquid, and its got most of the dirt out. Then i stood there an pondered sticking it in the disher washer on a low temp.... Whats the consensus on that?
  15. My R-tech AC/DC has been great, still learning but a great value TIG IMHO
  16. PLA is not great in harsh enviroments. It degrades / defoms with heat and sunlight. You'd be better using PETG for the final parts.
  17. The advantage of EP90 is that it also keeps the missus away
  18. More importantly who would name their kid Hadrian? ... Unless it was a family of bricklayers
  19. Poor tyres, and i would not be trying that on my tarmac drive.
  20. There was already a thread for this, allthough everyone replied in yours not mine , i wont take it pesonally πŸ˜› Mods you can delete mine if you like.
  21. 12 inches, but i don't use it as a rule.
