  1. I don't know - all this flooding and the news sites have evidence of people out enjoying it for God's sake
  2. Yup, Mobile Storage Systems gets my vote as well. I have one in ALF and could tempted with one for the 110
  3. Ah right. From what I've seen and the Landrover parts list the rear step bumper has a plate with 4 pre-drilled holes that you bolt a tow ball to, that could be a 50mm or 2" ball. The difference in part numbers seems to indicate that 90s and 110s have different rear crossmembers and therefore different mounting points - plus the 110 rear crossmember changed with the 99 model year. As long as the mounting points matched the crossmember I can't see that UK spec or NAS spec would make much difference, except for the UK where approvals for towing equipment neccessitate the correct stamp / sticker.
  4. Doesn't the rear step bumper come with holes to mount the tow ball to? Surely you could bolt either a 2" or 50mm ball to it? Or am I missing something here.
  5. The part number I quoted above (post 99 110) is correct according to my dealer as it was an 07 model fitment I wanted. So as long as its a post 99 then yes it should.
  6. Landrover suggest keeping under 3000 rpm for the first 500 to 1000 miles. 3000 rpm in top is above 80mph.
  7. It's been great having the Defender in all this weather, loads of floods and big puddles scaring the Euroboxes and I can just carry on through. Excellent.
  8. That looks great - the view as well. Sitting here in the office looking out at a gray London skyline I'm very envious.
  9. They all do it - even new ones.
  10. Sorry, can't help by measuring one but when I fitted individual fold down seats in the back of my last 110 to replace the benches I just held one in place till the space looked right and marked the holes.
  11. Pugwash's new truck on it's first laning trip? Centre steer Series I?
  12. Still availible from the main dealers - I enquired about getting one on the new 110 - With the elcetrics and fiiting (pre delivery) they wanted £600 + I declined. I think they reckoned about £250 ish for the the step on its own. Part number is STC50301 for 110 model year 99 onwards and STC50269AA for 90s
  13. Been there a few times. It's still a feature of the 07 model as well
  14. Not all had sunroofs either. What years are you looking at. Definatley look for radio, carpets, full headling / interior trim and alpine lights
  15. To be honest - no. When I got mine I thought I'd rather have it unlimited but then 80mph is plenty fast enough in a Defender and saves fuel economy by keeping the revs down. There are times when a bit more would be useful to get past some idiot in a Eurobox.
  16. I agree - the point I was making was that I felt it could be taken that the 07 model had the same shortcomings in the heating department as the earlier models. Having had both this is def not the case.
  17. Yup, mine pulls really well to 82mph (on the GPS) and then you feel it back off and sit there. If you come to an uphill gradient it will accelerate again to get back to 82. If you hit it a down hill gradient (even slight) it will pick up speed - mine has seen ove 90mph (on private roads of course) on a slope. I've also been told that the limiter can be switched off using testbook. Mind you 80mph at under 3000 rpm makes for a nice motorway cruise.
  18. Welcome - sounds like a nice truck.
  19. How are you getting on with it Tim? I've just worked out my average fuel consumption so far to be 30mpg - best I've ever seen from a Defender
  20. I think the point you're missing here, as are a number of the other replies is that the question was wether the 07 Defender would cope with the cold. As I said I used to have a TD5 Defender and that along with the 200 and 300Tdi Defenders wasn't up to the job - you'd need additional heating. From personal experience (of testing the heat just for the sake of it) and the cold weather testing that LRO reported on it looks as though the new Defender may well be good enough for Nordic climates. So talking about how bad the TD5 or Tdi engined models were is not relevant.
  21. I've used rain x in the past - in the Defender I just used to switch the air-con on.
