because of the urgency I took starter motor off and put the spare I had on checked it first with jump leads earth to casing and live to the small jack spun freely, defender started first time sorted, the one I took off checked that in the same way and that spun aswell never found out what the problem was, thks for reply dd

hi, a friend of mine has a series 3 petrol and ask me if its possible to put a 200tdi in it, shows in the archives doing swop into a defender but weren't sure about the series 3 any info would be great dd

hi, went out last night change batteries over because two that where in bit to tall started the defender 90 no issues when out this morning and all I get is humming from starter motor similar to revs when not in gear could it be low battery as only got 12.35v I have four batteries and they are roughly the same when connected live jump lead to main battery feed on starter motor and earth to casing it didn't do anything, but when I put live feed to ignition jack it turned the starter but did not start any ideas dd

hi, I am presuming the 110 is a van, so take the roof and sides off the van take out the windscreen take the wheels off trailer (less weight) put trailer on 110 upside down thread drawbar through windscreen opening and you might have room to stand the roof and sides at the front , just a thought dd

is there anything I can do or is it something for a garage to sort, dd

hi all, defender 90 1987, disco conversion 4yrs ago, passed mot Tuesday flying colours, I was a bit concerned about my engine though, asked him if he thought the head gasket was on the way out, he said no, but he said engine sounds a bit flat then walked off, what did he mean flat???? dd

when galv is there a special paint you have to use on it after,( sorry to poach) but just had my 110 mod chassis galvanised and would like to paint it , dd

it's a 1987 defender 90, with a 200tdi engine and gear box out of discovery 1992, which I put in about 4 years ago, the gear lever sits further back than normal, so if I get a 300tdi clutch pedal put it straight in and I bleed the clutch, dd

why is my clutch pedal so hard are all defenders the same, borrowed son van other day and nearly stuck my foot through the floor surprize how soft it was, dd

hi, I recently bought a 110 1991 ex mod rolling chassis, all paper work vin plates ect, stripped it all down and sand blasted, pick up tomorrow, and having it galvanised, question is, is there a nut&bolt kit I can buy to put it back together, that's all the brackets aswell everything on the chassis, and stub axles brake calipers or do I buy everything separately, dd
