  5. Hello all Ok, I have spoken to Peter and the weekend is going to be April 8 & 9th 2006. The weekend before Easter. Greenlaning roadbooks will be provided for the Saturday for those wanting to make a weekend of it. I'll get a good mix of lanes together :P On Sunday we will have sole access to Bures for the day, thanks to Peter, Petergg. Chris Watts, GBMUD, will be setting out a Winch Challenge course. Peter's insurance is for play days only, so although teams will have punch cards and these will be totalled up so they know how they did, it will be non competitive. Format will be very similar to Bampton, with a stop for lunch. We are going to arrange camping and a BBQ etc. This can't be at a site, but Peter is going to see about a local farmers farm, or I can sort something out. People can either take this option, or there's a campsite at Colchester or plenty of affordable B&B's nearby. The Winch Challenge will be 2 vehicle teams. For those that haven't tried a winch challenge before there will be plenty of people to help out and advise so don't be put off by entering. We will limit it to max of 18 teams just to keep numbers manageable and there will be various grades of punches. PM me to enter a team. If you don't wish to take part in Winch Challenge, don't worry you can still come along and spectate/marshal and play in areas that aren't too congested. Cost for Bures is 20 pounds per vehicle. Bures is about 5-6miles NW of Colchester, and about 5 miles south of Sudbury.. Google Map of Bures with directions about as far away fromLynton as we could manage As Peter is laying on the site for the day, I'll aim to collect the 20 pounds entry fee about a month in advance. Let me know if you have any questions, and add the date to your diary.   6. Look up polycarbonate on ebay. You get off-cuts on there quite often. I picked 400mm s sheets for 4 pounds each. Extremely strong and lasts well. You easily cut it to shape with a jigsaw too. Cheers Steve
  7. The roll is unsettling to most, but actually it out handles a standard Discovery,even one with ACE. Just that the Disco's especially ACE equipped feel stiffer. If you want to stiffen the handling a bit to make it more traditional, you can fit Bilstein shocks when they are due for a change. As for shocks apart from Bilsteins I wouldn't bother with any other gas ones as most of them screw up handling. Go for OEM or boge (who makes them) if you want standard ride. You could check your bushes, these might be worn,and changing these out stiffens it up too. They are a great Range Rover, the electrical and air suspension faults are overrated and always easily fixed. Visit for www.rangerovers.net info its a very good site. Cheers Steve
  8. Hi Will Next time we meet up I'll give you a couple of spares along with the workshop Manual. Never had a problem on any of my P38's with bulb's, just have a couple of spare from when Overfinch fitted the Xenons. I also have a couple of spare air bag bladders if you want them. Cheers Steve

  10. I will have two. I've got one in good condition, painted in bonnati grey with headlining and all fixings. The other will be in excellent condition as it's off a 5 month old 90 TC Belize green/White with headlining. Feel free to PM me Steve
  11. Anyone got any experience of these replacement mats that you see on exmoor trim, gon2far's sites. I think theyare all made by wrightoffroad they appear to be a good solution to heavy duty floor covering that's easy to wash out and can reduce the noise a bit. Also- has anyone ever used the sound proofing paints from Lizard Skin and Dinitrol etc?? And do they work? Are they worth it? Thanks in advance Steve
  12. I need to get a decent hardtop with headlining front and rear to convert a truck cab. Problem is you don't seem to see many about. There's one on ebay at the moment currently sitting at ~260 quid. What's a reasonable price to pay for one in good condition. Worst case does anyone know what these cost new. I'll also need a new rear door. I'm assuming it's better to go for the one piece version that came in around 2002 - again anyone know the best place to pick up one of these price wise. Cheers Steve

  15. 8274's don't use special bolts. Unless, there'some different ones I haven't seen. Just use longer HT bolts with new nyloc's Cheers Steve

  17. Mounting pattern is the same 10" by 4.5" as yours, you'll need about 2" between lower mount hole and base of bumper. Main problem maybe depth. I think you need about 9-9.5" between face of bumper and back of winch. Can't measure mine as I've no longer got it. Tony is using an allbright solenoid, mounted in the wing behind light IIRC. My solenoid was mounted in battery box. Disc brake additions that I have seen are normally manually operated so can work whenever. Cheers Steve

  20. It will be, and it will get better over time gradually It's a 90 TD5, nothing special yet, but over time I hope to get it to the same level of capability as the Hybrid. At first though it needs to be dualpurpose on-road and off. Cheers Steve

  22. Yes it's Tim Should be putting a deposit down on something on Monday and it may have a green oval on it I'll update you once that's done. No secret, just the one I'm thinking about may not be available still. As for replacing the Range Rovers, haven't got a clue yet. I was a bit surprised at how easy and quick it was to sell them both. Not surprised as they are both good cars but you never know how long these things will take. Finding it hard to pick something that the boss and I like. Got to make our minds up soon as rental cars are not cheap. Just picked up one this morning for 3 weeks so really need to pick one by then. Cheers Steve
  23. I can't complain too. Just sold two Range Rovers this month on ebay, for a total of 42,500.A lot easier than selling via autotrader etc. Also bought a number of things.Likemost thingsyou just have to be cautious. Cheers Steve
  24. Just two weeks ago I had 3 Land Rovers. Two Range Rovers and the Hybrid 90. Both Range Rovers now sold, both via ebay with no problem. The Hybrid goes to a new home on Monday, another forum member Steve
