  1. My Defender is completly standar and I'm really sure is way better than a standar Jimmny both in utility way and off road. In on road comfort the Jimny is better, but when you leave the road the Defender is more comfortable. I have to do off road all the time for work or simply because here we don't have much pavement. I used to have a Toyota HDJ80 with 4.5 gasoline engine, pretty good car but really weak option for working. However, that car is A LOT better in both on and off road than the Jimny..... and belive me, the 110 is far away in capacity over the Toyota (at least in continuos real off road both totally standar, don't know for heavy mod's cars and tournaments). The Jimny, as some of you say, is really impressive when you drive it in off road, as well as the old Vitara, but have to go with heavy mods (any additional to MT tires) to cope a Defender in real world off road.
  2. How can I take the breather out in aTD5? I don't have a banjo, just a little hose that goes inside the axle case.
  3. Excellent. Can I use some of the manuals to update our site?
  4. I think I already uploaded this to our Colombian site. Please check, if it's not in there I'll upload it tonight. http://www.legionlandrover.com/index.php?sec=3
  5. You can go as far as 2.3 in standard and 2.6 in HC, but I recommend you not going more than 2.4 in the HC for inspections purposes. My work is to ship and receive cars all the time......
  6. Thanks a lot, tomorrow I'll make the unlock and fix.....
  7. Good day. Is there a part number for the loom connector with the 4 pins? can we buy it from new?
  8. I've got 30.000 from a VDO and 40.000 from a Britpart... really sad both cases. NOw I have another VDO and I'm buying a Britpart just in case (I made a window in the trunk for quick changes)...
  9. Not, it's an unknown earth behind the dashboard, but it's facing the interior of the car. I mean, you have to take all the plastic things to reach all the cables and this earth point. I had this exact problem during 2 years, had to disarm all the car in order to fix it, because the car started juddering after a while blowing fuses...
  10. Good day. A friend of mine have just bought a Sport Supercharged version from 2007, but he doesn't have the owners manual, nor the enterntaiment manual (for multimedia equipment) or workshop manual. Is there any way somebody can help me? we are in Colombia and the dealer doesn't give us any information (car was brought from USA so the dealer don't want to know anything on this). In addition, the nav system doesn't have the support for Colombia and again the stealer don't have the information or support. How can we access and update this? is there any Range nav system database we can access? Thanks
  11. I have errors from all the sensors right now, but I don't think they'd fail simultaneously....
  12. Is there any way I can know this for sure? Mine is a 2001 TD5 and there is no response on ABS (when I purge using Nanocom, there is no the usual ABS response, but only little hits in the pedal). I want to make the system completely functional, so I'll start for sensors. Another thing I was seeing is the presence of a bush in the place where the sensor goes. I think I don't have these bushes, can be this the reason of the non-function?
  13. Thanks a lot, I was looking forthat info too... Do you have any info in ANR6467 shock absorbers, they are with the coils, I want to know if they fit in my car....
  14. A friend of mine have a pair of LR Genuine rear springs for 110 but their color code is Blue/Blue. I haven't find it in Defender's manuals, can somebody tell me what are they for? are they HD? Thanks
  15. Is there out any other car that uses this type of fuel pump but really reliable? I have used 3 in 120.000 km, LR Genuine, Britpart and VDO, all of them pure carp. Last night another VDO just bit the dust... they are too expensive and are not sale in Colombia, so it seems that I'm going to pass new year without car.,..... I need an alternative that don't die with any little dirt...... ideas?
  16. Thanks Gremlin, I think this is gonna be the trick I'm going to do.... thanks simon for the response.....
  17. I'm a complete stupid man and didn't ask Paddock for the one time shot grease sacks, so now I have this problem: I need to change my CV joints but don't have the swivel grease and haven't found Texaco EP00 in my city. I have access to lithium based greases with EP additives and CV joint grease, Can I use it in this application?
  18. A friend of mine have OME HD in his NAS, and we are really impressed in it's capability to maintain control (however a little stiff on the road), but they fall really fast with some weight in the rear axle (not lost of capabilities but rear shows down). However, this is a 90, I don't know how strong 110 springs are, some expirience?
  19. Is a big risk to install ATB with standar half shafts in the front?
  20. This Ashcroft ATB is just a take out / put in thing? I've been thinking in this help, but I'm very concerned in installation difficult, since here in my city there is no a person who can install an ARB technically.... it´s easy to install this LSD? what about the Truetrac? which one is better?
  21. What would you recommend for heavy weights? I have to point out that these weights are not carry by good conditions roads only, but through mud and rocky hills, using low range to keep moving, so my shock absorbers have to be really good in heat work and very strong to cope with the work.... Are those Britpart HD really good in all these aspects? I've tried HD versions in Disco 1 and don't seem good in keeping tires on the earth. Also, they have bad name here in Colombia for heavy off road use, they are supposed to fade before the year, are those myths or truly trues?????
  22. I'm trying to make the best compromise with my suspension obtaining the best of every world. Right now I have OME HD +2" in the front and Genuine HD in the back (they are for armored cars, so +2" when compared with "normal" 110 in my country), combined with Monroe Adventure 4x4 (2" longer than original ones). They are not the best compromise at all, being well in good condition roads, not so well in potholed ones (most of my city streets), pretty decent in low speed off road conditions (where I am like 50% of the time), and simply can handle heavy weights, not been a remarkable champion as before when using Genuine HD in all corners (please notice my rear springs have a lot kilometers and are really tired right now).... If I could, I'd go Genuine HD all the way, they are really good, but too pricey for me at this moment, so thinking in using Pro Comp shock absorbers (ES9000 in +4" form) and what do you recommend in springs? I can buy Britpart, OME, Flatdog or Terrafirma (I've also think in this brand for shock absorbers). I accept any idea of combination. Please help me, here in Colombia everybody uses OME kits, but I don't like them a lot because they can't handle heavy weights (I'm travelling to my farm every week with 1600 kg in the cabin including me, equipment and cargo. Have no winch right now but thinking in putting one in the short term...
