  1. When I switched the wipers on they worked fine, but I couldnt switch them off. They just remined on at the slow speed. Had to remove the relay to stop them. Bit annoying as I really wanted to have adjustable intermitent wipers. Aragorn, which pins should I try rearranging, and how, please?
  2. Ive always put Millers or Castrol engine oil into my 1996 300tdi, but this year I decided to use Tescos own brand of oil. I figured that it might even be a higher spec oil than what LR were recommending in 1996? It seems to be running fine, but I guess time will tell.
  3. I bought one of these relays, but it didnt work in my 300tdi. It just put the wipers on permenantly. With the correct relay, to adjust the intermitent wiper to give say a 5 second delay, flick your lever to intermitent, then back to off. Count five seconds an then switch it back to intermitent. Done. If anyone can point me to the correct relay, I would be very grateful
  4. oakesy, thanks for posting the photos, much appreciated western, I dont seem to have a threaded rivnut on my chassis. Its a Richards galv chassis and it seems they've missed this hole off or its filled with galv. Guess I'll have to decided whether to drill a hole in the galv, or go without mudflaps
  5. The mud flaps on my 110 were removed by mechanic a few weeks ago, and now I want to fit some new ones. But I never studied how they were fitted For the rear flaps, I can see a bolt under the lip of the rear wing which I guess is used by one end of the bracket, so does the other L-shaped end of the bracket fit against the lashing eye bolt on the chassis? And does the bracket for the front flaps fit in a similar way? Many thanks
  6. Its costing around £1200 for fully respraying my 110 to Bonatti Grey.
  7. Thanks for the replies everyone. My 110 is having a complete respray soon, so I'll wait until that is done before considering doing anything to the chassis. I like the idea of disguising the galv, with it being new it kinda says "steal me.." I might waxoyl the chassis and then find a good black galv paint for the rear crossmember. I assume if I waxoyl the crossmember it will rub off onto my trousers evertime I load up the landy! Oh, and I rather like worms
  8. Should I bother waxoyling the new galv chassis on my 110? Ive read that the winter road salt can eat into the galv. Is this true? I assumed that a galv chassis would be safe from such conditions? Im confused
  9. I didnt know that the words 'performance' and 'tdi' could be used in the same sentance
  10. Has anyone here bought a new rear door lately? My 300tdi 110 rear door needs replacing but Im unsure where to buy one from despite there being a few suppliers on the net. Any tried and tested suppliers please?
  11. Id love to remove, repair and galv them but if I encounter problems then I will be stuck. My 110 is my main (and only) vehicle which I need for work each day, so unfortunately I dont have time on my side. I guess the roof would need to come off, and I dont really have the space to store a partially dismantled 110 in a secure manner. Might have to get the spray shop to do a repair when the time comes.
  12. Might see if I can get the rust cut out and a new piece welded in, and save a few £££
  13. Many thanks for the replies. Seems lika a big job to replace it. Ive recently had the body of my 110 lifted off during a chassis swap. Shame I didnt think about this sooner. So is it a major job to replace it?
  14. Before my 1996 110 300tdi gets a full respray, I need to sort out the rust on the edge of the rear floor. Is this a replaceable part or does the rusted area need cutting out and a new piece putting in?
  15. OK, thanks. Could you possibly post back on here when it arrives as I might nip over to Paddocks and buy one. Wouldnt mind knowing how you get on with it, whether all the hinge holes line up etc Cheers
  16. beaker, where did you get your new rear door from please, as I need to order one soon. And is it any good? Cheers.
  17. A useful post, as I need to change mine soon. Thanks
  18. I didnt realise that about stainless bolts on the hinges. Ive bought a set of these TD5 hinges with the nylon washer/sleeve inside. Aint fitted em yet though
  19. Interesting.. I ought to do the same with my new props. What type of grease gun should I buy? Do I need one with a special tube fitment for the prop/uj nozzles?
  20. Good question as Ive just had a galv chassis fitted. Is the galv vulnerable to our weather conditions? Id like to hide the visible galv from gypsies. Ive been told that POR-15 sticks to galv. Think it was originally a water tank sealant. You can also get POR-15 Metal Ready, a product that prepares the galv surface prior to application. here My galv bulkhead was treated with T-wash prior to being etch primed and then sprayed with paint. Hope to see other suggestions
  21. No worrries Got my new genuine props from PA Blanchards, decent price and good service.
  22. Ive just put a pair of front & rear propshafts from my 1996 110 300tdi on ebay. I dont know if a 110 front prop is the same as a 90 rear prop, but you can have it for nowt if it'll fit. Ive just had a galv chassis rebuild done and decided to change both props whilst it was being done. Im in Sheffield
  23. Ive had new wiper boxes fitted along with a new wiper motor, but my wipers have developed a similar problem. When I switch them off they suddenly stop instead of parking. I wouldnt expect this to happen seeing as Ive got a new motor fitted?
