  3. If I go to Billing this weekend can I take my dog with me, or will I be refused entry?
  4. If I remember correctly, I paid £200 - £300 which included taking the gear box off, and fitting a new clutch and fork.
  5. I dont know what 'easy fit plinths' are, could you explain?
  6. Some of the online independent LR places sell them, but they always seem to be expensive. LaSalle do a replacement headlining with speaker housings. Still not cheap though! http://www.lasalle-trim.co.uk/welcome
  7. Cheers Aragorn On checking again, there is a tiny click on a couple of the UJs. Hopefully this is the source of the rattle im hearing. But knowing my luck...
  8. Thanks Maverik. So are you saying that having 1/8 turn of play is normal?
  9. neill.bird, did you receive your bushes. Were they any good? Im after a set of genuine rubber bushed also.
  10. Whilst investigating the rattle underneath my 110 300tdi, with the wheels chocked, handbrake off and gears in nuteral, Ive noticed there is almost a 1/4 turn play in the front and rear prop shafts (well, perhaps an 8th of a turn) . There is also a tiny amount of play beteween the props & rear UJs, although they all turn together. Should the props be solid? How much play should there be? And what should I tighten/replace. Cheers
  11. Just placed my order with Gwyn Lewis. Good service over the phone. Thanks for the recommendation
  12. Thanks for the replies Anderzander, Ill give Gwyn lewis a ring tomorrow. Are there any other suspension parts I should be changing, obviously bushes is one. But will I need the spring retainers? Many thanks
  13. Will these turrets and securing rings fit as a direct replacement for my standard turrets and rings on my 110 300tdi... http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/OFF_ROAD/HD_Suspension_Parts/Heavy_Duty_Shock_Absorber_Turrets_%28pair%29_Galvanised.html http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/OFF_ROAD/HD_Suspension_Parts/Heavy_Duty_Shock_Absorber_Turret_Securing_Ring_%28each%29.html Im having my chassis swapped for a galv chassis and im going to be replacing my suspension springs and dampers at the same time. Im sticking with standard genuine suspension but thought I may as well fit galv turrets. Are they a straight replacement? And are there any other suspension components I should replace?
  14. I know more about the maximum velocity of the un-ladened migrating African swallow, then I do about auto electrics. Fortunately I know a bloke at work who knows what he is doing so hes going to wire mine up. I guess it cant be difficult to someone who knows what they are doing?
  15. Heres some links... http://www.lrm.co.uk/Archive%20Index/Technical/Fitting%20a%20Heated%20Screen/fittingaheatedscreen.html http://www.landroveraddict.com/smf/index.php?topic=194534.0 http://www.landroveraddict.com/smf/index.php?topic=377707.0
  16. Im planning to fit a heated screen soon. I spent some time reading up on this and can quote some of what Ive read is as follows. Use: heavy wire 30amp relay 20amp fuse Personally I used two 45A relays fed from two separate fuses on the aux fusebox and one control switch (VWP sell switches with all the correct symbols on). You can get all the relays, connectors, wire etc... from Vehicle Wiring Products Ill dig around for some links to other info I found. Its advised to fit a timer (5-8 mins)as it puts a heavy load on your electrics.
  17. pathfinder, nice bonnet. Wouldnt mind one myself. Was it a straight fit, or do they need the catches etc fitting?
  18. Im interested in this answer also. Im about to buy new surrounds and a grill and was thinking of spraying them to match the body colour.
  19. Thanks So I assume that if you pressed the pedal down, you could select 1st gear but obviously wouldnt be able to drive off as the clutch remains disengaged. As I park up leaving it in gear, I have a 21 year old habbit of pressing the clutch pedal down as soon as I get in, and holding it down until ive started the engine. Guess I would have to get rid of that habbit and remember to turn the Meck Lock key first. Though I guess it wouldnt take long before I forgot. Would it do much damage over time if I kept doing this (pressurising the system as sean f points out)?
  20. Been thinking of fitting one of these devices as Im about to have a galv chassis & bulkhead fitted, making my landy attractive to theives. But im wondering just how effective it is? http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/Meck_Lock.shtml I realise that the device somehow stops the clutch fluid, making the clutch pedal ineffective. But if left in gear, the theif could surely hotwire the ignition with his foot on the accelerator, and drive away. As its possible to change gear without using the clutch anyway, does this make the device useless?
  21. Bumpstops here... http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/207/241380-AXLE-TO-CHASSIS-BUFFER.html?search=buffer&page=1
  22. Probably means that the AA have had to recover it that many times, they have stamped your chassis for you as loyal customer
