Ed, what you're doing seems to be working, keep it up, I enjoy seeing your solutions using just the stuff you have around without having to find more specialist bits 🙂
Doug wasn't on about welding it with the TIG, just cleaning the metal up with the TIG before you weld it with the spool gun. The AC will clean the oxides and the heat will boil the oils out of the castings.
Sid is going to be a spritely chap with the higher revving engine AND the 1.003 transfer box
Out of curiosity what is the theoretical top speed at the moment and what will it be after the surgery?
Anyone know all the numbers to pop in the gearing calculator thingy?

There are also instructions on here which will enable most electronics enthusiasts to do the job. Somewhere in this thread are the calculations needed when re-writing the eeprom to change the mileage.
It's almost like you had a life get in the way of working on Sid 😮
OK, that is even more impressive.... how many winters did you actually work on Sid outside? We know you worked on him the winter just gone.
Worth adding that a lot of the work was done outside in whatever the northern weather gods decided to throw at you....... making it an even more impressive timeline.
Definitely not slow!
Just over 5 years to build a lightweight in your spare time, and boy do I mean build! You've made or modified virtually everything, definitely earns the badge of 'Built not Bought'.
Awesome to see Sid moving
Congrats!
