  1. yes they do (check the tech forum) and also check the vacuum pipe from the turbo to the pump. mine split in my 300tdi and it was similar to what you described.
  2. thats got me thinking now western.. my landy parts supplier here says that i should have an 83deg stat so thats what i fitted. but after reading this thread and the one in the defender forum i'm notsure i have the right one
  3. quite a few(me incuded) of us out here run our caburated 2 stroke outboards without thermostats and that got me wondering if it would do any harm to the general running of my 200tdi?? i think it doesnt matter on the two strokes because of the way they are lubricated but i have a suspicion that the oil in my 200tdi needs to be at a certain temperature to work properly?
  4. one of those thermo travel mugs will hook over the lip on the lower dash. quite secure there too.
  5. i have an 83deg thermo in my 200tdi and a capillary guage in the top hose and it never gets over 86deg even when driven hard and towing etc. if it got to 95 deg i'd stop to see what was wrong!!!

  15. been having a few problems lately with my brakes on my 1986 90. basicaly what happens is at random times in a journey the pedal will go down to the floor and then next time be solid and normal. you never know when its going to do it. ihave replaced the master cylinder, bled 2lts of dot4 fluid through it, all the flexi's are stainless goodrich, pads are 6mth's old, shoes the same, all the pipes were replaced a year ago. the old fluid was black so i though master cylinder. i'm not loosing fluid just pedal pressure at random times. all thats left is the servo?? would this be giving me the symptons i'm experiencing?
