  1. One for you've been framed perhaps the £250 could go to the Air Ambulance Glad to hear everyone is OK well mostly anyway
  2. I know its the eleventh hour but we have had a member drop out if anyone fancies a play as long as your at the entrance to sidbury hill by 9.30, and a member
  3. Well its going to be wet.. SCOR are racing at sidbury hill as well.
  4. Yes the FIA seals are fitted during scrutineering but all the wires need to be pre-fitted. The restrictor for a V8 like ours is 36mm I was mistaken about the size... we our running a naturally aspirated V8. Yes we are again doing all the service for the guys in the Dune Raider team.
  5. Hi I need a road speed sensor which I have always seen fitted to the BW transfer box on the 4.2's to tell the ECU and speedo what the speed is. Can anyone tell me if they are fitted to the LT230 if so do they have a part number as I need one for a racer which is running a 4.2 on a LT85 and LT230 t-box.
  6. They take some getting used to as I found out as the first few times I drove the racer in anger I kept putting it back into first and not third which is a little off putting at 60 odd on a muddy race stage. it changes instantly no ifs or buts and leave nasty seat belt marks
  7. Two left but I will take names in case of cancellations
  8. Out checking the lanes today some of them are a little scratchy we did it in a Disco and no makes were left but just to warn people.
  9. No that's wrong when it comes to big FIA off raod events During srutineering at the UAE Desert challenge we had not fitted any of the seals and the scrutineer gave us the benefit of the doubt but said it would not happen again "in the way that all scrutineers do" he fitted them for us but told us there and then we have to fit all the seals they then check them. With the number of cars going through the scrutineers don't have time to fit all the seals so it down to competitors to do so in advance.
  10. Can anyone confirm the size of the wire and seals needed to conform to the 2010 FIA regs for the seals which have to be fitted to the engine prior to scrutineering. Also is the new restrictor size 35mm or 34mm I was under the impression the new size is 35mm but a mate has made a throw away comment which has worried me a bit. Thanks
  11. I depends of your own experience I prefer auto's off road I even race with one but there not without there problems. but the Disco Td5 is the only car I owned which has less than 4.2lts and auto. I still think a 2.5 is not powerful enough to enjoy the benefits of an auto were as I normally struggle with manual not being strong enough to take the power. I do drive breaking most of the rules for example I cover the brake on hill descent to keep the engine revs down but you try to explain that to someone that's only been in 4x4's for a few years your wasting your time they just think your standing on them. If you descend in D as the revs clime it changes gear and will keep doing so hence keep the revs down. I do stick to 1 or 2 myself
  12. Right I have replied to all the PM's more info on the SLRC forum I have five places left in anyone is interested in coming along Julian
  13. Ross My 110 has MTR's on and that get most places for a standard truck it mainly gets stuck due to me forgetting I no longer have twin lockers or 35" tyres. I raced on MTR's for three years and IMHO there is not much in it between the BFG MT and the Goodyear MTR.
  14. As Perv said I wouldn't want to take a RRS but a 90 with mud's will be more than capable. From what Colin has said the Warden's are fully aware of the day and our route.
  15. First of 2010 for the Shires After the great success of the day in late 2009 we are holding another Salisbury plain green lane day with a pub lunch. Normal greenlane day driving on maps. Meeting in Tidworth £10 per car Limited numbers so please PM me if you want to come along.
  16. I can't make it I'm gutted the Shires may drive past on there greenlane day so give them a wave. I'm doing family stuff
  17. I'm a National A licence holder. I have had some massive crashes off road admittedly at 60+mph and involved the landrover being completely totaled and if i was not for the car being built to MSA regs I would not be alive today and my challenge truck cage was built to MSA spec and most people have see how little damage was done to it's cage after I dropped it 20ft onto its roof so I don't see the problems with safety kit being regulated.
  18. I'm shocked that they didn't need license anyway. i Thought that was the hold Idea of the MSA coming into the sport.
  19. Thats not so good would it not have happend much sooner if the block was cracked, do you need anything bringing out See you in March. Julian
  20. A mate was teaching me to left foot brake the racing freelander and it worked perfectly in his works shogun but I couldn't get the hang of it as I just lost all power I couldn't work it out until we found that if the brakes are applied the revs cut to tick over. The TMC doesn't suffer from that problem
  21. Shire's Calender See the new club calender for 2010 there are a few venues to be confirmed but otherwise its there.
  22. I got this from SCOR last week but have not had much time to do anything about it. Hi guys I am sorry to take up your in box but I must warn you of further lane closures around Salisbury Plain. It would seem that more of our green lanes are under threat from Wiltshire Council. The excuse this time is to improve amenities around the historic site of Stonehenge. But they have gone to far. Everyone agrees that the historic lanes that are opposite Stone hedge BOAT’s Amesbury 12 and Durrington 10 should close in order to give the site its look as it was in pre historic times. But Wiltshire Council also wants to close the lanes that run up to Stonehenge from the south again to improve the amenities. The BOAT’s are Berwick St James 11, Wilsford Cum lake 1(SU 099394 to SU 1174180) Wilsford cum lake 2 and Amesbury 11 (SU 128388 to SU 121419). But how could they as they are south of the A303 and play no part in the look or the amenities for Stonehenge as anything on this side of the A303 would have to cross this most dangerous road. The only persons who would gain from these lanes closures’ are the landowners on either side (some 6 people) who would gain exclusive use of these historic and beautiful lanes, as either farm tracks or their own personal gallops. The council would be effectively giving land away. These lanes have been used from the time of the building of Stonehenge probably for the transporting of good to and from the site when it was being built. I urge you to go to the Wiltshire council web site and lodge your view and comments that these BOATs stay open to all traffic and are not closed for ever. The link below will take you straight to the site where you can e-mail from or use the on line form . I urge you to do this as soon as possible as they closing date for this proposal is 15 February 2010 http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/council/consultations/troconsultations/trostonehengeprohibitionondriving.htm Thanks and please let me know how you got on.
