  4. Are you planning on removing the gear box at the same time? If so you will have to use a 2ton, one will just bend. And one with adjustable legs is worth every penny! It is more than possible with a normal engine lift and some STRONG rope around the gear housing and looped over to the single lifting point on the engine. And yes you will have to remove half the front end then push the landy back leaving the lot hanging. Best you always have someone in shouting distance just incase!!!!!!!
  5. Looking for the little clip in nut things behind the door pillar for securing door hinge bolt. Just snapped one of the buggers off!!!

I have a 300tdi 90 and im looking for a good (GOOD!) set of tyes that i can use: 1 on the motor way 2 off road without getting stuck in 6 inch's of mud 3 dont become to loud over 60/70ish 4 in the past i have found that the high end tyres dont last long i.e. pirrelli's i had for a hatch back only lasted 9 months due to the soft compound but they did grip like a gorrilas fist! The tax man has just given me a rebate so its all going on the landy before she finds something to spend it on!!

  12. making a start on updating the interior so best start with the wobbly broken plastic casing behind the wheel.
  13. Do you need to reuse it? If so either pullers or a hot oil bath. You might be lucky and find your local hire centre will have a good set of pullers that fit.
  14. Welding it will make no more difference than it would to any other chassis but you would really want to remove all the galv where your going to weld on first. Unless you have a death wish. Using a good dust mask and a flapper disc on a grinder will do the trick in a well ventilated place! When it comes to protecting it after spray galv is not a touch on the real thing. However there are some good zinc paints out there.
  15. Your going to have to either get wet or wait and use the multi meter. You will probably find its a bad connection somewhere or your not getting a earth.
