  1. Bogbuster, back to your original point, I think the Black Rat is a copy of the Tirfor TS16, most probably made in China, I've seen several similar "badged " versions of this, several of the big 4X4 stores that advertise in the Aussie mags have their own colored copies. I've not heard anything too detrimental about them but one of the large suppliers to industry in NZ stopped carrying one of these copies because of hassles they'd had with them, they now carry the other one, same as the Lifting & Crane one. I'm not saying that all the copies came from the same source but I believe that the Black Rat is a painted version of the Beaver Tuff Pull which in its earlier incarnation was the one that caused hassles. As always, stand to be corrected on this. Cheers, Steve.
  2. Not having used Paypal b4, could someone please post an idiots guide to making a payment via Paypal, sorry if this has already been done & I've missed it. Cheers, Steve.
  3. Definitely with you on that one Richard Cheers, Steve
  4. Staying here for now, looking in on the other occasionally, suspect that a couple of weeks could see a world of difference & figure that its too early to make a firm decision either ways. Early days yet, but this forum has a fresh look & a very agreeable cast of loonies Cheers, Steve.
  5. Thanks Nige, Needed a good laugh, good to know where to get one from a reliable source Cheers, Steve.
  6. Sounds like good advice from jw to me. I think (hope) that there are wheels within wheels, deals within deals going on & I for one am happy to weather the storm & see what happens. I like it here , its fresh & bright, but I'll still go back to the old (new) forum from time to time, I'm happy to have the archive available & suspect that in time we'll all adapt to having two forums ( forae?)The new header is a bit green & in your face though. As others have pointed out, its only one more in a whole bunch. If ( pie in the shy) these two forums merged I think that would be the best solution but I'm neither counting on it happening or bothered if it doesn't. The only person getting stressed in my household is the wife, who was delighted when the old one died but full of dread now theres another one Cheers, Steve.
  7. Oops sorry, finger trouble!
  8. Grem, Can we please know whose front parabolics those were ? Thanks, Steve.
  9. Nige, Either your significant other doesn't EVER read your forum posts or you've got bigger balls than I have. Hope you had a truly LOVELY wedding Cheers, Steve.
  10. Hi Jim, I'm happy to be waving a flag too Epic, awesome game last night, hell your Boks are hard men, I thought I was going to have to eat humble pie after my cracks on the Aus/NZ forum, too close for comfort & a very gracious team in honorable defeat. Both teams winners on the night & the game of RUGBY the more so. Cheers, Steve.

  13. Ashamed to admit, I went to the Dark Side , ( Isuzu Bighorn,[ Holden Jackaroo]) but have plans for a 100" hybrid one of these years soon. Young family etc . Used to have an 88" Series 2a, but we out grew it, still trying to figure out what happened

  15. I've been chasing this Forum since LRO days, like some above wondered why all the posts were drying up on the LRE Forum, didn't think out of the square enough to figure out why, found my way to here via a Drongo post on ORRP as related earlier. Not really sure which of the above options really fits, possibly the one about other Land Rover related sites. Cheers, Steve.

  17. "Smatter of interest, when did the move to this forum start & what was the vital post I missed "? Was it something like " All Forum Members Read This" or was it something more subtle. Having seen such headings b4 refering to inappropriate ( to who?) postings, etc, I've tended to ignore them, possibly should mend my ways. Wife has stopped laughing now, she realised her brief spell in the ascendency is over.
  18. Des, Theres only one real Rugby, the other thing is called rugby league, & who cares how bad the warriors really are Thankfully neither of them are in any way related to footy. Cheers, ( as I duck for cover) Steve.
