Still can.t solve the problem now it starts but will not run.
It is showing no engine faults on a Lynx fault reader.
Got to get it fixed its to good to scrap.
On the up side anyone with a P38 in the Boston area of Lincs who needs faults reading PM me.
It pulls away in first and goes thru second and into third very slowly.
It will not rev to 3250 in drive.
Does the turbo have any effect below 2000 rpm?
It will not go fast enough to get up into 4 gear and no it will not rev over 3250 at all.
Code reader arrived but will not talk to the car so thats going back.
Why do cars need electronics?, my tractor stands all winter and always starts in spring.
I have tried all above with no results, seems to have gone in to limp mode, so have sent for a code reader.

Hi just got a 2000 dhse back on the road, got it with a broken crank.
Runs and starts well but compared with my last one, which was fitted with a super chip,it as a lot of flat spots.
What do people think of these. Any one got one fitted?

I would get it tested to see if its showing any senser faults before spending on the injector pump.
Its a right pig to take off to get it reconded. what happened to simple engines like on tractors, pump off in twenty minutes.
Mine had done 170000 and had been chipped most of its life. It was tuned to 175bhp, how true that is I don,t know, but the ones I tried before where horrible.
I like the long distance between fill ups because I run my cars on Bio and have a tank at home, which also makes them more economic on fuel than LPG.
Don,t know about 4.0l ones but the 4.6's don't like single point.
