No this may sound rather stupid, but saving weight I thought it may be a good idea.........
Could it be possible to cut chunks out of the chassis to lighten it! Bear in mind that this LR is built for the road and not the usual stresses of offloading!

Im going to try in on the landrover this evening!
Always wanted one bolted to the back wall of the Garage so I can winch the Landrover (Or engine on a trolley) in and out of the garage.
One trip to Southend Aldi and £40 later.......i had 240v winch
Using 5mm steel plate on the back wall as a spreader plate, and the same thickness the other side sandwiched with 4 x M10 bolts, it works well!

Made Minivins Stainless Steel system for his 109......sounds so nice, but cost about £700, a lot cheaper than buying a machine!
No way the RRC chassis is 750kg as I can lift it! A bare chassis is more like 250kg.
What I have been looking for is a heavy duty fish scales up to 300kg!!
I will be visiting Les in A couple of hours.........then tomorrow is Tidy up gararge day, and start sorting engine/gearbox mounts for the V12.
Im hoping to get the Engine and gearbox in a position to weld the mounts in by the time I go back to work on the 3rd Jan. Im also hoping to get all the bodywork back on...........
Mine was a realistic build date to be at Billing 2009.
It looked like this about 1 month ago:
Now its just a chassis again as its having the V12 installed!
Come on lets face it...........its all to do with money!
Series 2 body + RRC chassis + Registered as a Series 2 = No tax
Series 2 body + RRC chassis + Registered as a RRC = Tax payable
If its Registered as a RRC then I don't think DVLA/VOSA would care as long as you pay the Tax.
Mine will be a V12 RRC, still on RRC Chassis, Steering & Suspention......yet Registered as the RRC so I have to pay the 5.3L V12 tax rate.....If its the price I have to pay to be legal........ then so be it!
Thanks all, some good ideas, but im going with Oranges idea.
I have obtained some thick steel chequer plate, so will do that as its the cheapest easiest option. All I need now is a hook!!
Luckly the back wall is not attached to the house
Thanks
I need to pull the Hybrid into the garage (As well as other things) but need an anchor point that will take the draw pull of a rolling RRC chassis with Engine and box, so I can pull it into the garage.
Anyone know of one that is "off the shelf"?
Thanks
