Im always embarrassed to say the word megasquirt to newbs.
I used to hate the looks i got from my postie everytime i got a package from nige with megasquirt tape all over it.....
Put simply. Get rid of the dizzy and carbs.
Apart from that, the search engine is your friend. Trust me, there is LOTS of info about this
Welcome btw..
I was wondering if it would be possible to make the install neater by using these http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/product.php/653/fuse-relay-socket rather than using separate fusebox and relay bases?
Looks pretty good quality for not a lot of money.
Mind you ive also been looking at post #6 at http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=65264&page=1
This would be neat as i dont need to have any of the old original wiring in place. This suits as i dont have any of it in place yet anyway
Cheers Barry. That actually looks not too bad for the money. What are the crimps like? I think someone complained that the terminals just pulled off with hands....
True, but its not rocket science. Never for one minute did i think they wouldnt have sorted a simple problem by now. Lets face it, there not exactly cheap to purchase from new...
Dont panic. I know the topic has been done to death.
My question is this: At what point did the inadequate headlight wiring stop being a problem? I have TD5 harnesses on my build. Will i still need to look into beefing up the headlight wiring in order to protect the switch?
Oh and merry christmas folks..
Good idea. I dont think the base of the dock station is quite big enough to cover the ashtray and its neighbouring cracks.
Ive found a place on ebay that sell black anodized ally in any custom size you want. I will get a piece made the same width as Raptor console and same depth as dashpad and mount the dock station to that
I quite like the look of the Belkin one. Also, they are supposed to be good quality.
How do you have your connected? Are you running it from a usb socket in your vehicle somewhere? Maybe there would be a way to hard wire it running a cable up through the dash for neatness..
Cheers Bowie. I will have a proper search after dinner, but the recess of the ones ive seen so far look a bit shallow. Looks like they might fall out quite easy.
My dashtop has the common cracks/splits at the ashtray.
At first i thought about replacing it. This idea was quickly forgotten as soon as i saw cost of a new one.
I then considered just fixing a piece of Black anodized ally to match the finish/width of my Raptor console. From there i progressed to wondering if it would be possible to make some kind of iPhone docking station there.
Has anyone done something similar? Are the parts required for this readily available? Or would the positioning of this lend itself to the phone just falling off all the time?
Id be interested to hear opinions? Maybe its a silly idea but i thought id throw it out there
