  1. Offered up wiper motor to bulkhead in order to see where i need to fit rivnuts and found this... It appears that the tube that houses the spiral drive is way too long. I know that the td5 wheelboxes that ive used are slightly larger than the td5 type but the positioning of them on the bulkhead is obviously the same. I thought maybe i have the wrong tube as there are 2 different part numbers available but surely they are not that much different in length? As you can see from the pic its a good bit too long.
  2. Go and have a face-to-face with the manager. I would mention that unless things are concluded to your satisfaction you will be seeking legal/court action. After all 21k is no small amount of money....
  3. Well, i kinda needed to know what they all are. You see i never started off with a whole vehicle to take note of how everything was. What i will say is that some td5-specific stuff i wont be needing. Like i said previously its an injected v8 so things like the diagnostic ports etc i wont have.
  4. Wondering if any td5 owners could explain what all the holes in the seatbox are for? Given that i will be running a megasquirt v8 i wont be having the td5 ecu in there however i could use one of the holes to run my ms loom into the seatbox to mate up to the ms ecu/relay board etc. Some holes i may need to grommett but id like to know what is supposed to go where cable-wise.
  5. Nah that cant be it Ralph. Check out numcat. It clearly shows 2 totally different fuseboxes. 1 under seat and 1 under bonnet. None of which is the standard fusebox in front of gearlever.
  6. So let me see if ive got this right? The engine compartment fusebox is actually in the seatbox? So then what is the under-bonnet fusebox if it isnt in the engine compartment lol
  7. Amongst other jobs im also in the (laboriously slow) process of trying to wire up my 110. Now according to RAVE, the 1999 td5 has fuseboxes in 2 flavours. 1 being the "passenger compartment" fusebox, and the other being the "engine compartment" fusebox. Fair enough. However both of the parts diagram sites that i use (allbrit and numcat) state the fuseboxes as being "under seat" and "under bonnet" fuseboxes. Common sense dictates that "passenger compartment" = "under seat", and that "engine compartment" = "under bonnet", however ive come to realize that lucas and common sense dont necessarily go hand in hand! Additionally, what in that case is the fusebox just above the transmission tunnel known as?
  8. The memfast set does look good. That will be a costly 4 rivnuts mind you...... Still i guess it will be handy thing to have in the tool set.
  9. James i was like you. I though at first it must be a frame. Thats why i (mistakenly) ordered it lol
  10. Now that is a blanking plate that fits into bulkhead heater hole. Why i dont know
  11. James its a plate. I know because i ordered one by mistake. I have it on workbench right now.
  12. Please bare in mind that the bit of metal James has highlighted is a plate - NOT A FRAME. It blanks the air flow
  13. I know theres a blanking plate that can be fitted into the heater hole in the bulkhead, tho i dont know why anyone would want to....
  14. Hmm thats a new one on me. No sign of that on parts catalogue.. Maybe a diy bodge before you got to it?
  15. One of the things i bought whilst refurbing the old heater was a new seal STC952. Its quite a substantial seal, and the old one whilst in tatters looked like it was attached to the heater body with self-adhesive. The new one, even though its a genuine part does not have any self-adhesive side. Can someone confirm that this is correct? If so how do i attach it to the heater? Will something like silkaflex suffice?
  16. Maybe the rivnuts i have are steel.. They wont budge in the slightest
  17. Ok, so went ahead and bought the rivnut tool i lnked to in my original post. Wish i hadnt bothered. Trying to insert M8 rivnuts (RRC8666) that hold heater onto bulkhead. Not a hope in hell of doing them! Even with my ham-like hands. Glad i tried a tester before attacking the bulkhead. That would have been a disaster! So does anyone have a more manly rivnut tool i could borrow for a short period of time? Phil
  18. Thanks for that Ralph. I wont be in a position for a while to find out if it works or not as ive got a load more work to do before i get to the 'turn of the key' stage. Need to refit a lot of electrical components first. Ive got every faith that your diagram is spot on though
  19. That must just be my mistake in identifying the 2002 connectors. If it was a 90 chassis harness the connectors wouldnt reach the front of the chassis as the harness would be a couple of feet too short. I'll rectify connector ID easily enough but i'll still need some advice regarding what wires go where. PaulMc and DaveW both said id probably have to cut off a connector and swap wires around but they have both disappeared.....
