Looking at the rear diff, it's on a bracket on the RHS of the chassis.

Anyone an idea of the part number for the solid heater pipe that bolts on to a Defender 200TDi Exhaust Manifold. This pipe runs the length of the block and has two brackets that are slotted to fit on the outer exhaust manifold studs, it also out and back to clear the turbo. Unfortunately, I'm 200 miles away from my parts manual. Model is a Def 90, 200TDi (Defender) 1991 model. Many thanks Nige

Those breathers go to the fuel lift pump and the transfer box. That snorkel fitment is a military peculiarity. The breather fitments are military. I'm sure with a bit of research or chasing about with thread taps/dies will discover the thread and then some fittings that will fit. Otherwise, you can purchase the complete wading kit for about £300 + vat + pp. It's only 2 pallet loads. Nige

Is it like the attaced pic? If so it's a military type. The two protrusions are for fitting breathers (very useful). When I retofitted my Def 200TDi in place of the 2.5N/A, I just went out and bought some reinforced flexi hose of the same diameter. Bit of silicon and 2 good jubilee clips, job done. Effortless, Just my opinion, but if you've had the Land Rover for 15 years and probably never changed the tap gasket, I'd have said that the piece of cork has done an excellent job. Just replace it with the genuine article from Blanchards and carry on with another 15 years trouble free motoring from the tap. Nige Edited: Just noticed, you have done it before. I'll go and stand in the naughty corner. However, I must admit, I've never had a problem with those gaskets.

I wouldn't do anything like drilling the hitch as this could reduce it's strength. You really need something to go round the hitch as has been previously stated. The way I look at it, there ain't that many vehicles about with a hitch that can take a sankey ring, so the risk of it being stolen at services is a lot less than a caravan etc. They'd have a job with the electrics on mine as well. Having to pump the pedal is a classic symptom of out of adjustment brakes. Just make sure the leading and trailing shoes are adjusted up and give pedal a press in between adjustments to settle the shoes. Nige

If you've drums on the rear (not clear as you initially mention pads), it sounds like they want adjusting.

I am about to order VDO Coolant and Oil Temp gauges. I see thy come with 1/8 NPT senders, but there are alternatives. Would the 1/8 NPT fit my 200TDi, or do I need to order another size? Many thanks Nige

Pic 4 & 5 are for a heated front/rear window I think. I think that's what Brown with white trace wiring is. Unfortunately, nowhere near my LR at moment to check. Nige

Depends on what Withams let you do. When I bought mine at MVS years ago, they MOT'd it, I arranged the insurance, took the lot along with the MOD cast document to the DVLA office got the reg number, got the plates made, arrived at MVS, they fitted plates and I drove it away. Alternatively, you can, as you say, trailer it away. When I bought mine at MVS, it took about 2 weeks to get to the reg plate stage due to work getting in the way. Nige
