  1. when i switch my engine off and remove the key (its an 86, 90) the battery lights stays on and the guages stay about a couple off mm's from their normal rest position, ive tried disconnected and reconnected the battery but it made no difference? is there anything common for holding a ignition feed on or something?
  2. just out of interest james, what was the most punches 1 team did? and did anyone do the punch in the main woods, you go down the hill, over the bridge, sharp left, and all the way down to the end, drop left in towards the stream and then it was up the valley on the right and the boundary fence? also big thanks to treebloke (bob smith) well and trully got us of the stick stuff when we had the tralier problem on friday afternoon by lending us his spare one! Thanks Cracking event , cant wait for the rest of the series! Ian
  3. perhaps its something to do with bampton then?
  4. i installed a new clutch in my 90 last month, ive done about a 100 mile on the road, and then the first proper test was at bampton yesterday, on a few occassions i had excessive clutch slip when trying to pull away, and then you could feel it grip and away we went. today after i picked it up from treeblokes to take it home, on a few occasions i got a bit of clutch slip again, what i noticed was that the bite has moved back to the very top of the pedal again (this was what happened to my old clutch) could i be looking at a hydraulic problem here? im unsure of the age of the master and slave cylinders!
  5. yeah got to pop out myself first thing so i will make it after 10ish! Ian
  6. you working on it tomorrow? if so il try and get down and have a look! ive had alot of experience with turbos, even built my own at one point for my renault 5 turbo, had better results than when i was paying 500quid plus for them!
  7. it is fesible that the oil control ring could of gone, but id say its unlikely, my bets are on the turbo, is there any up and down play, or in and out play on the shaft? if your going to try and start it without the exhaust manifold, you need to connect the turbo oil feed pipe to the return pipe, otherwise you will have 60psi of oil pressure spurting out everywhere!
  8. any more news on these yet simon?
  9. thats what i thought , but didnt want to do any damage to the solnoids,so i thought id check first! Thanks mate
  10. right i have my in cab switch and wires down to the solenoid, ive gathered that the earths on the solenoids are switched? on my loom from the cab i have 3 wires, one for live, one for in, one for out, the switch is earthed in the cab, do i need to link all the solenoid earths to earth? ive done a quick search but no luck!

  17. just found this on wayfinder, this is going back to april 06 but: Farmer at the northern end is getting grief off the CC about mud on the road so he's not happy with 4x4's dropping mud he gets blamed for! We're trying to sort something with the CC to stop this
  18. when i last drove this the day after we did that winch challenge in broseley last month, as we approached the farm end, the farmer came out hurling abuse at us, and telling us rudely to leave. i also remember reading something afterwards on way-finder, that the farmer had an argument with some other laners, saying that the council was giving him greif about the mud on the road at the end of there! So in my opinion i would say he is deliberatly blocking it!
