  9. Thanks shaun, that's a great help. I have found a 38v 2w bulb today but it is the same fitting as a side light on a defender but will do untill I find something a little smaller. I think that should do the job? Peter
  10. Do you need to excite the alternator with the same voltage as the alternator output? or could you excite a 24v with 12v? Regards Peter
  11. Not realy, as I want a better charge rate thats why I have taken the split charge system off and to get 36v from a 12v alternator is not that easy. Geoff, Thanks, there is a W marking on the case but no terminal near it. Peter
  12. ERR5579 = 7PK2238 I can't find a 2240. If you have an OE number I have a book that can x reference. Peter
  13. I have to sort the wiring out yet (Tomorrows job), as on the back of the alternator is B+ D+ and an connection to the Bosch regulator, I assume that B+ is Bat Pos, D+ is excite ign and I have no idea what the one on the regulator is for. I am having trouble finding a 36v ign light so was going to fit a relay switched by 12v ign feed to send 36v through relay to the D+ to excite it and fit a battery condition light. What amp relay would you suggest and what gauge cable from B+? Regards Peter
  14. Hi, At the moment yes, I spoke to the company that suplied it and they said it would be OK. Thanks for your comment. Peter
  15. Hi Will, I was told it is 90 amp but have not got as far as wiring it in yet. I decided to change my rear winch was a xp9.5 but will be a EP9 as wanted a better brake, and found myself cutting the rear xmember out to fit winch a bit closer to fuel tank. Also fitting Batteries etc, all take's more time than you allow for as I'm sure you know Peter
  16. Hi Jules, Not got as far as testing yet as fitting new winches etc, the winches only will run off this alternator and 3 batteries, the 12v system will run the vehicle as normal. Peter
  17. Fitted a second Alternator today, just have to wire it up and hopefully it will be OK. Peter
  18. They do them here a bit of bling too. Peter
  19. I live in Colchester Essex, if any one needs anything looking at or picked up give me a shout. Peter
  20. Hi Jim, Yes you are right SC, forgot about that I don't think he charges at 36v as he has a 24v alternator I will have to give him a call. Peter
  21. I have found a pair of new 36/42v alternators not a lot bigger than a std one for not a lot of money, should have them on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for you input. Peter
  22. Thanks, Now thinking of 36v into 24v motors any thoughts? Peter
  23. I am about to fit a seperate 24v system on my 90 just for the winch's, I was thinking along the lines of a Rheostat, so could adjust the voltage to the motors. I use my winches a lot at Bures but do not want to run 24v through 12v motors when not needed. Regards Peter
  24. Is it possible to up the voltage as needed so you can have from 12v to 24v on tap? Peter
