  1. I got mine for 125$, and my rear prop is are the right angle
  2. had the same issue with my D90 TD5. Issue was a collapsing Snorkel fitment that restricted the amount of air going in and an oil contaminated wiring harness. Both were attended to and now I go to 4.5K RPM with no issues. I'm also chipped, intercooled (bigger), K&N and straight piped, but no issues there either...
  3. I'd be interested in majorly ALL the switches pending the price of the COVER only (already have loads of the electrical switch part)
  4. Tony is right, although it was not due to the lift I have which is around 2-3" on a 100" wheelbase... It was due to the lower links I made which were 4cm longer than usual. This has been rectified with a Rover Tym upper ball joint extension of 2" so the angle is sweet. Bottom line, if you don't want to go portal (I have some reserves for portals), your best bet is the Toy conversion, and in my opinion, the ONLY spare you will need, shoulf the set-up be great, would be a spare CV that costs 205$...that's if you use it... The R&P are cheaper, the Axles won't even snap, its just a better set-up...
  5. I personally like the stock drum brake...although the X-brake does look sexy!
  6. some updates... 2-3 weeks to go
  7. Its not the overall dimeter that counts, its the thickness as well
  8. Nice pictures as always! Was thinking that it'd be best if you can talk to Badger Coach works, they are in Maine, US, and they did my half-cab for my NAS TD5 90 - canvas work is their forte! If I were you, I'd forget the NAS type of cage and go with something independant of the top, keep the two items (cage/top) seperate. Here are some pics of the Badger Coach works 1/2 cab: Also, there are some stock LR parts that are allow for tight fitment between the doors and the top, these are sweet and are essential in rainy terrain - here in Dubai, its all about the A/C as you would know ... So yeah, bottom line, keep the cage and the top seperate, that's my take
  9. Which is the best way to mount the shifter? by cable or by a rod? Ashcroft recommends we salvage a BW shifter, any other way? I'd like to go simple, ghetto and have no issues with cutting the floor Thanks.
  10. trev, you're in luck! Just came back from Lebanon and checking up on the truck... Her are some pics of the latest update...3-4 weeks and we should have it registered and good to go... The 4.2 V8 got a brand new camshaft, and the 4.2L ZF were installed, the DBA rotors and EBC pads will go on as well, along with the RTE bottom rear spring shims and the A-arm extension will be set on the 2nd level (more pitch for the rear 3rd). The underdrive is to be sent tomorrow and should be in teh truck by next Monday. We secured an old Signaw box, I'll post pics once I get them, but the guy guaranteed that it'll push oceans The approach angle is sweet, and I'm planning to make sure the winch stays behind the chassis ears. The front fenders were nicely reformed, the hood remains intact, but there is no more BS in front of the wheel. Once we push the cab 2-4" towards the rear, then this should give ample room for the 42s. Clearance under the diff is quite nice . Now the BEST part of this whole thing is that my mechanic, who's my buddy and is handling the project as I'm needed at work most of the time, came up with the idea to seal the rear part of teh cab with the roof, and using the alpine lights vertically to allow me to see out the sides - not sure if you guys find it "attractive", but that's not the point here, its functional, and "smartly recycled" - I love it!
  11. D90 - 76" wide, dunno about tall, but stock D90 with Safety Devices NAS cage Disco - 84" wide, dunno about tall, but freaking tall as on 42" tires
  12. Tobes... My plan is to seal up the cab right behind the B-pillar and curve things downwards from the cut roof. After that, I'm planning to run a full exterior cage. Is there anything I can help you with? Do let me know.. Nadim
  13. They are from Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com)
  14. Small update: Drivetrain: Ordered the underdrive from Ashcroft (thanks Dave), located a 4 belt 4.2, a matching 4.2 ZF, stock LT230 & will need to plumb in a Merc Benz truck's auto cooler+fan & a custom mount for a BIG ASS hydro pump. Body: Decided to re-use the albine windows for the sides and a Golf Rabbit Mark 1 rear flat window with regulator. Stock dash and heater remain (no budget to go custom gauges and all for now) with internal "mini-cage" for seats and harness Everything else (i.e. whatever is left) - remains as is.
  15. Hey Ali, Thanks for the offer, but I'm on 42" right now (work in progress) B)
  16. I was running 37x14.5 tires with an OME 3" lift, 2" body lift and a lot of cutting - its doable...
  17. If you guys don't have legal issues with the tires needed to be covered by arches, then the EASIEST mod to do and the most cost effective (as he'll need to modify his drivetrain for the 35s unless its for looks) is the cut those wheelarches away - it'll cost you 5 USD to get the "u" black plastic protectors for the doors and conceal your cutting...you can easily shave off 2-3" from the aluminum...
  18. I cut my cage completely and truck and am fabbing an external cage FULLY!
  19. Thanks! I'm running 42s - if the Toy's give, IF, not WHEN , I'm going 14b rear, D60 front, shave them MASSIVELY, but I am VERY confident the Toys will last with the huge drop in weight and "traction gains" from the 42s (no high spinning hitting high traction surfaces, etc...the usual benefits)
  20. 36x12.5 is a sweet tire size for a 110 in my opinion...
  21. Trev, Yep, old cage... I decided to dithc the RR bonnet as the camshell design means that the sides would not be easily protected by tubework. The beauty of the Disco bonnet is that you can run a 2" tube in parallel to it for protection and aesthetics.
  22. Hey guys, Spent the weekend in the garage in Lebanon finishing the plans for the Disco. Let me tell you that its looking sweet, you can see things here (I'll add all the previous pics there later on): Anyways, specs will be: TD5 Land Rover Deseil (current state of 200hp, 325lb/ft) Nitrous (have to re-work some things from the old system) Land Rover Auto (heavily modified and cooled) 42" Rubber 1.5 Tonnes Exocage dual winches ~100:1 crawl ratio That's about it - project should be done in a month's time. A couple of questions: 1. Auto box, any modifications needed other than GREAT cooling? 2. What other than the TD5 ECU needs to be out of water? 3. Any chance in getting a MUCH larger hydro pump to fit the TD5? Thanks.
  23. I have the 7" ones from www.roundeyes.com, 100 USD and GREAT lighting!
  24. Wow - no thanks - too much for me (weight and money) - I'm talking occaisional rocks here, nothing too hardcore...
