  4. Thats VERY true rog. You might be getting some work then............................
  5. Dave A cage that is strong enough NOT to deform but bend the chassis is a VERY BAD cage by design....FULL STOP A cage should absorb the impact to more or lesser degree. Nige I would say you are pretty much spot on. I have always used 3.6mm wall 45mm o/d CDS 2 tube for cages nice to bend and weld. Chris
  6. Will It depends what you are building a cage for????? I have seen 45mm, 50mm ,52mm all bend in certain circumstances. Was the smaller dia tube anealed which you mention ????? there are many reasons why you would or would,nt use 45mm tube.Cage design is far more important than tube dia alone. Chris PS 45mm is what i suggested.
  7. I am there aswell, just got to set up new workshop, finish rear winch mount and a quick look over. Chris
  8. Cheers everyone Al at the moment 2" is the max,but i am looking at a full cnc setup which will bend up to 4" just got to fine the funding for that. 13/4" and 2" are the most common sizes . Chris

  10. Hi all Thought i would let you all know that from the end of the month i will be setting up a NEW workshop in the Northampton/Wellingborgh area. My main stay of work will be continuing with manufacture of bespoke roll cages but aiming more towards the comp/challange market, underbody protection, rock sliders, winch mounts, fuel tanks, spare wheel carriers, exhausts (stainless only),tubular turbo manifolds and vvt conversions. I will offer a tube bending service for people wanting to construct their own cages. Alongside that vehicle prep for road, expedition and challange. The workshop will have FULL facilities to do EVERYTHING in house!!! i.e TIG,MIG,PLASMA CUTTING TUBE BENDING,FOLDING,PUNCHING,PRESSING,TURNING and MILLING. I would love to build something like out of this world but at the mo time is the limiting factor which is frustraing with have ALL the tools to hand to put together a real good one off. Chris
