  1. I was going to buy some winch web tommorow until i noticed this thread B) I'll think i'll wait and see how this stuff performs first before apending my ££
  2. [kid from simpson] Har har [/kid from simpsons]
  3. I think you can, but i was going to fit a battery isolator switch between the plug and battery.
  4. they should have fitted one turbo on each manifold
  5. Thats the jobbie What size plugs are they ? I was thinking about putting the connector just inside of the rear door, so it's nice and close to the front of the dead vehicle.
  6. Don't remind me so far i've got to do Winch bumper winch wiring front recovery points Rockslider sills rear wiper complete exhaust system cubby box Snorkel On board air Quick release jump leads Suspension mods All custom made Easy job with off the shelf part is fitting the rev counter
  7. It's starting to co-operate now After a bit of advice, i've managed to move the freespool lever around by about 30 degrees. The winch will now sit in tight to the bumper with it's feet downwards. The face of the new bumper will be 7" from the chassis crossmember, exactly the same as it is now with a standard bumper.
  8. I am starting to doubt it's structural properties, especially in this wet climate
  9. If i can work out how to rotate the clutch lever by 45 degrees then i'll be able to mount the winch feet down. This will give enough clearance to get the winch close enough to the chassis so that the bumper will be exactly the same as stock but in 6mm
  10. I definately know which vehicle i'd rather be in if i had a crash B)
  11. I've already got the signal wire, wired into the engine loom and plug, just need a gauge to attach to it
  12. I'll keep an eye out at Sodbury for one, more in my price range
  13. I didn't know that That was the whole point of turning the winch through 90 degrees so i can get the clutch lever in a better position, so that i can get the winch and bumper as close into the chassis as possible. Any idea how to move it around, before i give it a go and end up with cogs etc all over the floor I've got to go and buy some more steel before i can make the bumper, just getting the design sorted for now. The web designs would be brill, thanks
  14. The freespool lever is that vertical tab between the g-box and wire drum. It has to be rotated around the g-box by about an inch to disengauge it.
  15. I'm pretty sure it's greased lubed as there is no filler/drain for the oil I think the mounting on the wing will be stronger this way as instead of trying to shear the bolts off, it will be in compression.
  16. Can i ask what you'll be doing with your old line ?
  17. Would it be OK to mount my GEW9000 winch rotated through 90 degrees from what it is supposed to be mounted at ? So it looks something like this ( but with the wire coming out the front obvoiusly )
  18. That doesn't look too good If your going to remove the rear body and replace with a cage, atleast do the job properly and remove all the body, and replace with a cage/flat pannels
