Hi Nige, i also have the same exhaust gaskets and have retightend them at least 3 times , the trick is to catch them before the blow damages the gasket!!
Hi my compressor for my arb was mounted under the passenger seat in my 90...however i keep wadding and filling the seat base with water and then the compressor stops working untill it drys out again,
so.....iv'e thought about trying to waterproof the battery compartment, but whilst i could probably deal with most of it i get the feeling that it might end up like a fish tank if it does fill through the top and can't escape.
so has anybody mounted the compressor outside (on the rear of the truck cab) ?.
and if you mount it inside the cab how loud is it???
or any other ideas?
Hi the pads for my td6 (non genuine) were £38.50 discs i think are £90
a chipped td6 isn't that much slower than a v8 and you still get 20 ish!
make sure whatever you buy has had the front prop recal done ,mine failed in a big way at 31K and needed a new diff prop and two drive shafts!!
my main agent services at 20 and 30 k were circa £550
it was indeed the low pressure pump (located behind a rectamgular palnel in the plastic under shroud just forward and inboard of the rear nearside wheel,
a tap with a hammer got it going again and then a replacement from europarts ...£150 inc as apposed to landrovers £360 +vat!!
Hi my 54 plate diesel L322 wont start, turns over ok lots of fuel in the tank, checked all the fuses relating to alarm and fuel pump but it wont go!!! any one had similar experiance?
my brothers disco 2 with 114000 miles has developed a vibration..rear end 45-55 mph you can drive through it ,its more something resonating. so far have checked for loose heat sheilds ect but i think we need to find the cause rather than the symptom?? all bushes look good front prop is new rear is in good nick.. any thoughts please

i'm renewing the mains and big ends in my cross bolted 4.6v8 has anyone got the torque settings for mains ,big ends and the cross bolts?? also im assuming you torque the mains down and then the cross bolts.. cheers for any help
advice please... i want to fit a serpentine type front cover in place of my 3.9 type cover
firstly cos i dont need the dizzy and secondly for the high output oil pump...so
i dont want the serpentine belt set up so will the v belt bits water pump alternator ect line up on the newer cover???????
after getting a tad stuck on sunday afternoon(pic's to follow) ive managed to fill my auto box with water!!!!!
so far ive drained all the old oil out and refilled it, all seems to drive ok ,
is there anything else i can do with regard to flushing ect to prevent any long term damage?
and...yes it did have raised breathers but it would apear that the gearbox one is not as good as it should be (new set orderd).

they have been there since 2000 ish, each wheel has its own motor, (a big v8 diesel from memory) you can inflate the tyres from on board,old american landing craft.
when i stood next to one the bottiom of the wheel rim was above my head!!

its (i think ) a range rover clasic rear axle circa 1980 im going (soon) to replace the whole axle with a newer one, so a get it giong for now will do !
yes kind of!! the size difference is only 4mm this will efectivly only move the half shaft 4mm further into the diff as long as the shaft dosen't botomout into the diff i can't see this being a prob ?your thoughts.. hows the hard top truck cab conversion going ?i'm assuming you also have sub zero temps..its -3 on my drive!!
my rear hub is dead bearing collapsed and damaged the seat for the oil seal...i've got a front hub which looks almost identical the only difference i can see is a 4mm difference in the wheel face to the front face ...any ideas if it will fit ok ??
my power steering has gone stiff!! the fluid is pinky white not red and the belt squeals when you turn lock to lock, im assuming pump but before i get the tools out (again!!) i thought id ask for opinions...
oh sorry forgot the gearbox!! and the rear prop shaft (new one from glyn lewis)
iv'e got a 2" lift nige ,it's always been on my list of when the bushes needed doing i'd make a decisoin to go to diferent arms/bushes but i'm strongly leaning towards leaving it be!
