  1. I am not sure about moving to the pass foot well, but have a look at the RRC hand brake, it fits to the top of the seatbox and IIRC is a direct replacement. Cheers Ben
  2. Mud Sell heating elements for about £20 IIRC
  3. I saw that stuff in the week and wondered if it was any good. Did the back of my DC with road warrior paint a while back. Jason, try Ikea grip tape, £1.89 and works a treat!
  4. Yep, I did one on mine, just added a longer bolt and put a nut on the bottom.
  5. My suggestion would be to build a table in the rear that was the same height as the seats when they were folded down. Have a board which could slide or open out on the seats when they are folded down and maybe use a couple of legs to the footwells to support if need. Hope that makes sense?
  6. On a side note, I use a couple of ratchet straps to hold my 35l Engel down, just rested over the handles. Its never moved even during the most ambitious off roading.
  7. I want to £25.15 to qualify for free postage
  8. Our club have a repair day twice a year. We do it at the sports club where we meet. I like the show idea a lot.
  9. I have a dual battery on my TD5 and have no problems at all. The only thing you may have to do differently is that the trigger for the split charge needs to be a VSR rather than a feed from the alternator. You can disconnect and reconnect the battery to your hearts content, and I have no doubt at some point you will have to disconnect the ECU to check the ECu loom hasn't got any oil contamination.
  10. I should be able to pop over and give you a hand, need to check with the long haired chief in the morning tho.
  11. Great, Doug recently helped me out with a transferbox install - very helpful. Cheers Ben
  12. From the first para "In the Department's view it is not legal to sell or use after market HID lighting kits, for converting conventional Halogen headlamps to HID Xenon" I would read that as if your fitting HID lamps (Bulbs) to original lenses designed for Halogen?
  13. I may be missing the point further down, but in the first para it seems that this is refering to a replacement HID bulb in an existing lamp body. I would have thought that this discussion was more toward the replacement of the whole lamp unit, meaning the refelctors are correct for the bulbs used? The £1000 plus variants also hold the relevant EU markings etc?
  14. As Retro said above with just one lamp the current draw will be about 4.5 amps, which most switches will carry easliy. I simple fused line from the battery to lamp via the switch and you're away.
  15. Give Doug a ring at http://www.bespokeoffroad.co.uk/ He is really good value and does a cracking job. Based near Oxford.
  16. Anton owns OEC, Simon Ward-Hastow was involved with Difflock but is now the editor of LRW; He owns the 110 with the Azalai back fitted. There are quite a few generic campervan back bodies which would fit, its a huge market in America so it may work out cheaper to import one.
  17. Well, this could be the shortest lived show in History! After a lengthy discussion yesterday, the venue have been forced to back out due to a lack of avilable indoor space on the dates required. The entire exhibition hall is not availabe until mid march, something I was not aware of when the original idea was hatched. So, no Expedition & Overland Show in 2012. Apologies, Ben
  18. Thanks Jason, I may just take you up on that! As david says, its very short notice, but where there a will, there a fool who thinks he can do everything in 30sec's
  19. Hi David, This is purely a stop gap until your show is back again - I neither have the time or inclination to do this every year. I enjoyed the show last year so much that I thought it would be a shame not to happen next year.
  20. After the postponement of the Overland & 4x4 Show a new show, The Expedition & Overland Travel Show will take its place for 2012. The event will take place on Sunday 12th Feb 2012 at: Experiance The Country Hounslow Hall Estate, Newton Longville, Bucks, MK17 0BU On the former Land Rover Experience site. Details are still being finalised, but expect a friendly and social event with camping available for those hardy enough to brave the February weather. This will be an event for the whole family, with activities such as archery and Laser tag available for the kids, bushcraft demonstrations and talks on a wide range of topics. To register for email updates, simply send an email to overland@ontargettevents.co.uk with OVERLAND in the title. You will be added to the mailing list and received news about the show on a regular basis. If you have any suggestions about what you would like to see at the event, please feel free to drop me an email on the above email address – I am all ears! Cheers Ben
  21. You may have issues getting that to fit to a modern headunit. The outputs from your stereo will probably be the RCA kind, and on most modern active subs you would find the same. You may be able to find/make a RCA to open end cable, but I haven't seen one. Sorry can't be of more use.
  22. Try here: http://www.nanocom-locator.co.uk/
  23. Cheers, I have a tin of contact cleaner in the garage (Injector loom to ECU plug cleaning!) So I'll give it a go and report back. Ben
  24. Hi All, Being a bit frosty this morning I switched on my heated windscreen on the 110, which in itself wasn't anything new. After about 2/3 mins however, I could smell melting plastic, and found that the connections on either side have started to melt. Any idea's as to why this may have started happening? Cheers Ben
