  1. i think you might have to come to terms with the fact that i am getting 35s and you are getting them tiny little 33s!!
  2. i need that engine in my discovery....
  3. look into terrafirma shocks... i switched from pro comps to these and they are decent gear and relatively inexpensive!! they come with rubber bushes.. which i reccomend.. polybushes are too stiff for my liking and can help your shocks snap!!
  4. 35.12.5/15 because i have normal hubs that any old rims can go on!!
  5. kuhmo have a very soft sidewall so are not great in ruts..they tend to rip or pop off!! we are going for hankook rt03 tyres on our discos now the reports say they are good on road too..
  6. are you not a member of the AA, RAC?? if so drive it outside the gate of where you bought it, disconnect something so it wont start then make the call.. they will take you home!! have done this a couple of times now!! some say its abusing the membership.. i say it is the best way of buying a car in cornwall and getting it to liverpool costing nowt for fuel!!
  7. ok guys.. the story goes.. lifted my disco 5 inches on 31 inch mud tyres.. never put any castor correction gear or double cardan props on.. went out the other sunday to a local mud bath car wrecking place (its great)! thrashed the beast for a day then on the way home had some funky clunking noises... dropped the box out and the transfer box was destroyed.. no big issue.. i had one in my spare car! put the new box in with a new clutch kit.. greased the shaft too when we put it back together.. now the clutch feels like that of a 14litre ERF and bites when the pedal is about 2mm off the floor.. tried bleeding the clutch but everything seems normal with fluid pressure... anyone got any ideas??
  8. found a set on ebay but the seller wont reply to me where they got them from so i could enquire about getting a spare!! no one else heard of them?????
  9. just curious if you can get them here in the uk.. remington mud brutes.. a google search was not very helpful for me as it only found suppliers in the u.s.a..... has anyone got them or used them before?? are they any good??
  10. just found this on the bay but it gave me a headache trying to fathom out what the ad says!! ebay ad!! maybe the full stop button stopped working for him!!
  11. like rob says.. you would be better off getting it back for bits... and if you got taken away on a spine board it always looks good on the old compo claim!! your pain will be rewarded in the end with a big fat cheque! my advice would be.. get the ibex back.. break it for bits.. take the money from that + the payout for the car + your compo claim and start shopping for a bowler!!
  12. i have one standard item here in good condition.. no idea where the other one went or why i have a 300tdi bumper either!! £10 delivered??
  13. definately 16s... colway the only company to do them ever it would appear!! got 31/10.50/15 spares and they are smaller... 265/75 16 also smaller than what i have....
  14. ^^yes.. all true!! and what is with the kick down on the autos?? just makes it feel like the clutch is slipping and you could have a brew and a kitkat before it goes any faster!!
  15. i can help you.. having had a vauge description and no pictures i will take a gamble and give you £250 for it.. £300 with a years mot!!
  16. without a lift i think its 235/75/16.. might need to trim the arches depending on how good your springs and shocks are with a 2"lift.. 265/75/16 are a popular choice and are 60mm wider than the standard poo.. i have a 5" lift and am keeping my eyes peeled for some 35/12.50/15 on 10" wide rims!! (currently on 31s..i think they are too small)!
  17. not heard of them being back on the go yet.. my 31/10.50/16 colway m.t's are nearly spent though but they have served me well and no one else does a tyre that size!! try tyre monkey on the web.. they used to be a main supplier i think..
  18. there are little slot/holes in the seat.. you can see them quite clearly when the seat is in the folded down position... think they are still quite loose when they are put through properly though.. (it is a landrover after all.. things fit where they touch mostly)! as for the airbag??? you must have a 300 shape.. the first with an airbag.. they were not technologically advanced enough to put a switch on it!!
  19. depends what kind of tube!! if its rubber/silicone into rubber/silicone then you could do with something metal inside the smaller one so it does not distort when you tighten your jubilee clips up and for extra strength... if its rubber or silicone into metal pipe it should be fine.... if its metal into metal try braising/ soldering or welding!!
  20. no one has tried to pilfer my discoverys recently!! they must have migrated south for the winter!! hearing my alarm go off at 4am used to be a regular occurance until i caught someone in the act... (a piece of inch box section round his person a few times made him cry)! I DO NOT CONDONE BEATING UP LANNY THEIVES:) (thats just how it went for me)!
  21. superglue is not too clever on things that get hot.... if it is thick it goes brittle and snaps too... it might be ok for a quick fix to get you home on some applications but i would not use it for permanent fixtures!!
  22. with the info given i would say with some cable!! probably 2 core!!
  23. on sunday i took the prop off to investigate.. it looked like it had been catching at the top u-j but nothing serious so i shaved a bit off it anyway.... today i pulled the half shafts out and they are fine so i took the drain plug out of the diff.. nothing! poked my finger in the hole and it was dry!! dropped the diff out and it is a wee bit buggered!!! no signs of any major leakage though.. i have only been out in it twice since i got it in december (about 150 miles) or so and it was checked for level when i got it... my spares are 10 splines so its off over to see bigcoz and his mountain of disco bits to get another one tomorrow hopefully!!
