  1. what size and how much mate?? are they directional like the special tracks???? never seen these in the flesh.. is the tread pattern nice and aggressive???
  2. i have these and 2"lift springs and shocks on my old disco and will put them on my new 1 too when it stops being so cold outside!! there will be people on here who say they are rubbish for whatever reason but i have been using them for over a year with a 2" lift and they have done the job... no problems and reccomend them... p.s made mine myself and it cost about £25 for the box section and nuts and bolts etc......
  3. ^^ went outside.......... its much warmer in the house..... the lanny can wait!!!!!
  4. not clued up on autos sorry.... only mess with 200tdi manuals...... would assume kick down cable goes from pedal to gearbox?? if detatched in gearbox should in theory be able to be pulled out so is only connected to pedal...... probably wrong and will definately be corrected by someone on here!!!! just seemed logical to me!!............awaiting backlash!!!
  5. cant you just yank the bugger out? if its detatched inside the gearbox you should in theory be able to yank it out...
  6. is there not a button on the dash to press to immobilise the interior sensors so you can leave the dogs in the car?? i know this is the case with other manufacturers and not owned a 300 for a while now... just train your dogs to bite so you dont need to bother locking it!!!
  7. i know this feeling!!!! going out now to fit a 4" suspension lift, snorkel, wheels and tyres, remove the carpets, fit lamp bar, steering guard, cd player and a few other bits to my disco.... had since friday before christmas to do it all and back in work on monday!!! oh well best get my big hammer and grinder out!!
  8. thats the way your lanny should look!!!! some people spend a fortune on harlequin paint jobs! we just use bits of 100 old lannys to make 1 multi-coloured work horse!
  9. oops.. just realised you said you dont want to lift it!! best going for the 205r 16 ortion.. would seriously consider lifting it a little bit to get the bigger ones under though!! and they do a 235 85 16 which will probably catch at around 30 inches tall....
  10. what size have you ordered?? where from?? i am seriously considering buying 265/75/16 special tracks... from paddock.. £60.50 each.. and i think they are directional so need to carry 2 spares... not heard of that size rubbing anywhere though..
  11. dont know about the tyres but i do know jap motors cant be mended in a field with gaffer tape, cable ties and a big hammer!! and the parts are definately dearer than landrover equivalents!! one of my mates has an izuzu bighorn which breaks and it takes about an hour to change the diesel filter.... not like a lanny!!!! another has a lwb landcruiser which is also s**t and a bugger to fix!! stick with a landrover man.. they rule.....
  12. no way.. do you live in my street?? harry hill across the road is 88 you know!! he keeps an eye on things for me too!!! and if he misses it the irish blue staffie i feed red meat and people who annoy me deals with them!!!!!! savage dogs work pretty well!!!!!!
  13. have you tried jacking her up and trying to shake the wheels?? could be a loose or knackered bearing.... i have had to change plenty on mine.. easy enough job and they dont cost a lot..
  14. was not paying proper attention when i first read the ad on ebay.... full internal cage for £950 looks beefy though.... well worth a look!!
  15. just found a part external rollcage on ebay for £295 + £25 delivery............. looks ok but appears to be a glorified light bar that gives little protection..... does anyone know how much a proper one costs???? might be a future investment for me..........
  16. i have seen these wheels on 2 discos now........... both had flaked to bits and looked generally scruffy due to poor chrome plating... be careful and do some research before you buy mate..
  17. is this the reason i had 2 small electrical fires in my last disco..... the smoke was not very contained when the heater wiring went up and filled my car with smoke as i drove along a busy motorway......
  18. ^^^remember its left handed thread too^^ otherwise there will be swearing and head scratching!!
  19. i have been using britpart yellow springs with +2" pro-comp shocks for a while now and no sagging or weakness to report here! i am no competition user but the old girl takes a beating some sundays..
  20. oh my god that was so badly listed it was hard to read.. got a headache now.. looks the part anyway.. maybe a candidate for the spare 200tdi motor i have or is it a td2?
  21. hi guys. i have just put a new clutch in my disco 200tdi myself.. it has already had a new slave cylender, master cylender and clutch fork a few months ago and i found thart job to be a pain so this time when i split the box i left the slave cylender attached and just took the pipes off it.. now that it is rebuilt i cant seem to get any pressure on the clutch pedal i have bled fluid through the bleed nipple on the slave cylender but there is still no feel in the pedal... can anyone help please before i go bald!!!!!!!
