  1. Although I didn't put my name down before I would very much like to join in!
  2. Nick says thanks for the offer but I say let the little plop buy his own!
  3. 3 please and 3 for Rogue Vogue.
  4. Just to add my support to Simon and stick a couple of fingers up at Scrapiron! Simon may be a bit tall and have an unhealthy interest in all things 'cheesy' but his products are spot on and everyones support will not do Scrapiron any good at all.
  5. "The engine bay also includes a red top Optima battery (mounted on its side) held down with a tie down strap. This looks like a good idea....." DISCUSS
  6. Sorry to say the site will not be available on the 19th due to someone getting hold of the wrong end of the stick. They seem to be under the impression we are intent on wrecking the site which as we all know is not the case. As the misunderstanding was gleaned from this forum please go easy on humor which could be misinterpreted or twisted to provide detrimental evidence. As you all know it is our intention to tread lightly and preserve the sites natural beauty to ensure our continued use.
  7. It's illegal to breathe without a license!
  8. Bull Bar can type quicker than I can! Anyway, as he says.
  9. Ben, if all you want to do is buy some time then only take off one head and don't replace the head bolts. You will need a valley gasket and a standard head gasket (unless your engine has composit gaskets fitted in which case you will need to fit a similar gasket). With the head off it may be possible to screw the broken plug through into the combustion chamber or at least be able to get at both sides of it. Have you tried a stud extractor in the broken plug?
  10. No, simple as that! You may get away with second-air as the only mod to the rim is another hole but then the rim is still modified.
  11. It rained all day! Last month was wet under tyre which made it a bit slippery, this month was wet down the back of the neck which made it even more slippery! Nick and I put out 30 punches, some easier ones to go with the tougher ones this time but I was unable to talk to many of those who had went for the punches at the end of the day as I was collecting them. Anyone get all the punches? We had a play in one of the gullies in the afternoon. The tyre washing did not go too well but it is a learning curve and will be improved next month. On the food front Lawrence (the man in charge) feels a burger van may be a better source of nourishment, anyone know of one? Getting it into the site may prove tricky! Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and if there are any constructive comments let me know.
  12. James, I think you’ll find the rope you have bought is a three strand synthetic rope with a breaking strain of 3 tonne, not suitable for winch use, sorry! The rope on eBay is Eurosteel-12, a different rope entirely, now if you can find where the guy on eBay is getting it from you may be on to a winner. I would love to be proved wrong and if so I will be on the line to Southwest Nets immediately!
  13. List to date: Graham Antill Adrian Turner Pete Silvester Chris Lever Tim Cane Dave Connaway Mike Hammond Graham Simon Jennie Reynolds Luke Fail Jason Funge Jim Marsden Peter King John Boyd Jane Jarman Ian Saltmarsh Phil Haines Pete Turner Ian Patterson Adam ? Bob Baker Paul Ruddick Rob Seigwick Steve Deacon Neil Scott Cass Lee Argyle Sam Raworth There will probably be 15 more but some people appear to be unable to remember their name and as for finding where the reg number is written on their vehicle............ not a clue!
  14. Adrian, done. Simon and Simon, too many bl**dy Simons!
  15. I've told you about your fiddling before! I would offer to help but as you know my pooter skills are only second to my navigation ability! Wanna buy a Soundblaster 16 card?
  16. Simon, if your reg is C329 CAP then it is you, let me know.
  17. Got a few more names to add to the list:- Graham Antill Adrian Turner Pete Silvester Chris Lever Tim Cane Dave Connaway Mike Hammond Graham Simon Jennie Reynolds Luke Fail Jason Funge Jim Marsden Peter King John Boyd Jane Jarman Ian Saltmarsh Phil Haines Pete Turner Ian Patterson Adam ? Bob ? Paul Ruddick Due to popular demand I will be running a Punch Safari on the 19th. Last time we had 10 punches aimed at your average nutter! This time I will put a little more effort into it with the assistance of the highest scorer on the Mike Wolff Trophy, probably 30 punches ranging from easy (to get but not necessarily easy to find) through medium to just plain stupid! This is not a competition, just adds a purpose to the day for those who say there is nothing to do. If things go to plan it will start at 11am from the tea tent area through to 3pm when we shall see who got the most punches, no scoring or trophies. If anyone knows of anyone else who would like to come they are more than welcome as there is no limit on numbers this time, just let me know names and reg's.
  18. OK Nick, you can be chief cow for the day!
  19. Nige, as Ripley says, it would be interesting to see the scoring spreadsheet. Would help explain the scores and show the punches that not many got which must be where good scores were gained. It does take a bit of thought to get ones head round the scoring but you have to score each vehicle if you do not insist on both vehicles gaining each punch. As said by others the individual score may be of interest but the team score is the one that counts. It would shut Nick up as well! He's been like a cow with three udders since Monday!
  20. Many thanks to everybody at HBRO, a cracking event at a level comparable with many of the ‘top national competitions’. Initially Jim (D90SV) and I were teamed up for this event but we thought it a bit unfair to enter a ‘club’ event so we split and Jim entered with Lee (black bob RR) and I teamed up with Nick (Rouge Vogue) to even things up. Didn’t quite work! Nick was phenomenal! For a hacked up Range Rover with no lockers and a driver with little competition experience he was driving stuff I had to use lockers or winch to achieve. He needed no support so we were both free to get punches individually. We were both surprised to come first but looking back both our co-drivers were on the ball and we didn’t spend ages flailing around on any of the punches. I particularly enjoyed the ones on the slopes below the entrance track, bit of winching, technical driving (avoiding the stumps) and no mud! Punch 77 was 18 inches long when we looked at it in the morning, we declined it. My only gripe was waiting over 15 mins for a burger at lunch time! Nige, every time I saw you during the day I called you a “ba$tard”, although you parentage may be intact you have an evil mind when it comes to setting out punches! Si, I loved your ‘Jesus’ photo! I’ll have that limp wrist looked at! Top event, when’s the next one?
  21.
