Arjan
I tried to find some solid answers but nothing yet, so I hope somebody here can help me.. I'd like to either reposition the the standard alternator from way low - and in the way of much - to where the optional aircon pump is fitted. I know it is possible - but what is needed ? Please let me have your thoughts ! Edited December 7, 2017 by Arjan
Bowie69
Using one of these depending on the engine? https://gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/product-category/electrical-items/twin-alternator-mounts/
Arjan
Yes, I have spoken to them this morning and they think they can help but I was wondering if here somebody has had the same situation and found an interesting solution. Bowie69
I think a couple of people have done it on here, DIY-form, but very largely similar to the above really, just took more time
Arjan
Mr. Lewis came back to me and as I can't weld, I'm more than happy to buy his bracket to mount the alternator. His seems to be good quality and well thought out. However, I will need a "roller" to reroute the fan belt a bit. This is a very nice & simple solution that seems to work - however, I need that roller that moves the fan belt out of the way. Any idea where to get it ? Bowie69
That looks something like this: http://shop.grahamgoode.com/subaru-impreza-classic-small-timing-belt-idler-pulley-ggs3028-64860-p.asp Very commonly used, as is cheap and compact. Snagger
Another option is to double up the water pump pulley as I did to power my PAS pump: http://www.nickslandrover.co.uk/pas-pump/
