Vac pump cam wear 300Tdi

Recommended Posts

Afternoon All

The re-sealing of the leaky 300 Tdi has gone fine , but it has thrown this up

please excuse the low quality pic's . I'm not sure which let go first , the pump actuator or the cam but I think it's time it was blanked off and has a 12v Vac. pump . I did check the spray nozzle and it is clear .

I think several people on here have fitted 12v vac. pumps so was looking for recommendations of pump and supplier

cheers

Anyone got any links to topic's on here about 12v brake vac. pumps ? I tried the forum search but didn't find anything in the first 10 pages . A google shows some OEM pumps on amazon around £80 but presumably they won't have the control switching or relay etc. The aftermarket ones seem to be around £200 upwards .

Great stuff Mr Shifter , Audi pumps look to be the common choice , I'll just need to ID the Audi sensor that switches it on and off to go with it , thanks for looking for it

As an aside we've not heard from Boydie in a while , I do like his wild outback trips that have been posted

cheers

Does everyone think that going to an electric vacuum pump is a good idea? The reason I’m asking is I’ll be rebuilding the 300tdi engine on my project soon so I will be refurbish or replacing the one that was on there anyway.

cheers Ian
