Ooohh, I could give out a prize here for the correct answer. The Beetle is a 1303s that I'm in the (very slow) process of getting running and road worthy for my daughters 17th, although I'd prefer her to have this 90. Now, the lorry is something a little rarer. Any ideas? It's from the 50's...

Anyway, moving back to my original question does anyone have any pictures of the routes that the cables and pipework take around the engine?
western
cool, can we see a photo of the complete truck please. as to loom route. on my 200tdi the loom comes from bulkhead connectors along the right side of engine at cylinder head to block joint, wires to alternator go between head & thermostat housing then down to alternator, plain brown wires to starter go around the rear of engine then to starter soleniod & meets the main power cable from battery bay. [ loom took the same route on the original TD engine, it's the same loom]

western
Think a 300tdi engine looms goes pretty much the same route, as all the items that need electrics are virtually in the same places. only a diagram but show loom route https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-rover-defender-body-electrics/batteries-harnesses/harness-engine_52823
