reb78
Interested in the replies here. If my turbo ever gives up I was thinking about trying one of the uprated cores but dont know how good they are. I think someone did a review on them a year or so ago on here and they were impressed with theirs.
Tim2809
Just fitted the uprated one. Starts to spool from about 1400rpm. Set boost to 1.2bar. More than happy as engine don't have to be doing 2200rpm upwards to be driveable, which means less gear changes

Tim2809
Mine was from fourby. Its made by turbo technics so a good quality rather than a rebranded Chinese core. Mine spools from about 1400rpm.and full boost at 1800ish. I run it at standard pressure of 1.1bar
Mo Murphy
Is that on a 200 or 300 Tim ? Mo
reb78
200 standard boost is 0.8bar isnt it? Mines set to hit 1bar at 70mph with the OD engaged. It will boost to 1.4 if I push it but seemed sensible to have it at 1 where it sits a lot of the time.
western
Defender 200Tdi should be 0.85bar, I upped mine to be 15psi on the boost gauge when the new core was fitted back in May
