RustBust Posted September 11, 2020 Share Posted September 11, 2020 Hi all, Recently bought a 2000 110 TD5. All has been well so far but I've noticed the 4WD gear stick has gotten very stiff and nearly impossible to get into anything but H or N, I can get it into low but it takes a bit of work... is this normal and just a case of 'it's a Defender' and I need to improve my technique 🙄, or is there something I can do to help this? Also, the diff lock dash light used to come on but now I can't seem to get it, or it will flicker a little, so I dont think I can engage this correctly anymore either? Any tips / advice? There’s no synchromesh and so you will sometimes have to ‘feel’ the gear in by applying pressure to the lever while slowly raising the clutch. mmgemini Posted September 11, 2020 Share Posted September 11, 2020 With not using my Hi low gear lever mine woulg become stiff, so off with the tunnel and plenty of WD 40.
