Anderzander
I’ve had a brake fluid leak onto my chassis, which was painted in two pack ... and it’s quite odd. Its not burned off the paint at all - but made it softer and deeply wrinkled, almost like it’s soaked through the paint and collected underneath it. There is no sign of rust, and I wondered if that maybe because it’s holding the fluid (oil), or simply because the paint surface has stretched and sagged but not torn. I’d expected it to lift it right off, like paint stripper would. Daft question - what would you do with it? Cutting into the wrinkles and then scrapping the soft paint off seems the obvious way to re-do it. Anything I’m missing?
HoSS
Brake fluid is a great paint stripper, exactly what i'd expect. Sand off, clean with alcohol and repaint
smallfry
Brake fluid will blister and strip ANY paint given time. It is slow to act but very effective. You should always wash down any spills with either brake cleaner, which will also remove any grease and any sort of wax rust proofing, or a good strong mix of warm soapy water. Once it has blistered, only fix is to do as Hoss suggests
