bishbosh
Has anyone successfully attached one of these 370 x 185mm Plastic Frame Net – MUD-UK (mudstuff.co.uk) to their headlining? If so, what type of fixing did you use please? I am assuming the fixings are only in the headlining and not into any of the roof ribs. I did many years ago Bish, big washers on the back, they were fine 👍 Mo
bishbosh
Thanks Mo. I was hoping to find some wonder fixing that removed the need to lower the headlining but it seems I am being over optimistic!
landroversforever
Depending on where you want them, can you line up the fixing with the ribs?
Bowie69
Have you considered some of the slimmer plasterboard fixings? Rawlplug R-TAP-IT Plasterboard Fixing 10.5 x 30mm | Toolstation You'd need shorter screws I would think, but may work?
Bowie69
Or Jack nuts? Jack Nuts | Shop4Fasteners Would need a setting tool as well, but could be enough, depends on how structural feeling the headliner is.

Junglie
Wouldn't necessarily need the setting tool - use a longer than needed bolt to pull it in, then revert to the shorter one for actual fitting. A bit laborious perhaps, but isn't everything Landy related?

Bowie69
Was more concerned about putting a dint in the roof, hence the suggestion of tool.

landroversforever
Should be OK with the bolt/nuts method. Win a nut most of the way onto a long enough bolt, wind the bolt in just enough, and holding that still with a spanner tighten the nut. bishbosh
Jack nuts look good - I had considered the equivalent plasterboard fixing but they are much deeper so these look good! Thanks.

This only works if you can stop the fixing spinning which as these don't have any tangs (like the plasterboard versions) may prove to be difficult. I have a tool for setting the plasterboard ones so should be good to go.

Algarvedave
Depends where you are sticking it. Double sided sticky pads would work onto metal surfaces.
