ANYONE SEEN MY ELECTRIC !!!!!!!

I have just removed and charged my battery, its duff and wont take a full charge so thats nice !

On re-fitting to the vehicle i now have no electric whatsoever, both connections are good and i have good earth. I do have a clifford alarm fitted but this usually just goes off until i remember how to switch it off when ive disconnected in the past.

I have no dash lights, alarm, locking etc etc and am a little confused !

Hopefully when its sorted i can bleed my injection pump that i have just repaired and then test my new bushes to see if my suspension issues are fixed, thats if no more rust appears whilst its sat there !

Possibly the battery gave up the ghost when you tried to recharge it. With the battery on the vehicle connect the charger and see if the dash lights come on. Don't try to start the engine!

If nothing happens check the fuses in the engine compartment.

I thought of that and connected to my freelander with jump leads to no effect, it did make the engine labour though !

Take out the old battery and put the one from the Freebe in place or connect the disco to the freebe with the jump leads. This will completely rule out the old battery.

If still the dash lights don't come on check the fuses all over and also if you have +12V on the fuses.

isn't there a fuseable link which could have blown, have a search

If it was a blown link it wouldn't cause the freebie to labour when you connected the jumpleads - that points to a flat battery. If it's gone that flat that quickly it's probably toast - you can take it to a battery place and they'll test it but frankly it sounds like it's time to source a new one.

I SHOULD HAVE POINTED OUT ITS A 200TDI COMMERCIAL, ALL FUSES UNDER DASH ARE GOOD BUT I CANT FIND ANY OTHERS ! IT DOES HAVE A TWIN BATTERY BUT DUE TO SPLIT CHARGE NOT WORKING THIS NEEDS CHARGING AS WELL, WHICH I WILL DO TODAY. ON RECHECKING THE OTHER BATTERY IT NOW SHOWS ONLY 9.8V, SURELY ENOUGH TO ILLUMINATE DASH LIGHT THOUGH !

In 'Control Panel' go to 'Accessability' or 'Ease of Access' and you can set your caps lock to beep when you press it.

Awfully sorry for the use of capitals, as you have stated it was an error with caps lock and Not me trying to emphasise a point, however if it upsets people i will take your advice and amend my computer accordingly !

Incidentaly i will be trying a different battery this week (for the disco), i will let you know how i get on.
