neilwilson
Whilst nosing around underneath I noticed the front anti roll bar brackets: Drivers Side. Passenger Side Should they be identical or has the drivers side taken a major thump sometime ? I can't find a decent picture anywhere else to show me. Thanks. Pete Attryde
They are both the same on mine. They are like the passenger side photo. So I would suggest that the drivers side has taken a hit at some point.
neilwilson
Thanks. I wonder if it is worth trying to straighten it up again or wether it doesn't matter really ? Neil
auf_wiedersehen_pet
Thanks.I wonder if it is worth trying to straighten it up again or wether it doesn't matter really ? Neil I had something similar on mine. It was caused by putting a bottle jack between the axle and bump stop bracket so that I could force the axle down to fit +2" springs. Hit it with a BB hammer and it went back okay. Rung like a bell though!
bobtail4x4
Had the same on mine, a clout with number one tool and all ok, I did wonder about a skid/bracing bar.
Les Henson
Yep - bash it back into shape. They always get bent backwards, so there's plenty of room to swing a hammer. Les.
neilwilson
I tried bashing away at the bracket with a club hammer but I think I need a larger hammer as it did not seem to want to move. It also has a crease where it has bent slightly against the roll bar clamp plate and I am not sure that the bracket will not just fold up with more belting. As a matter of interest what difference to the car would it make having the roll bar offset due to the bent bracket ? Thanks. Neil
freeagent
I did that to one of my rear brackets, came down hard on some rocks and flattened it. We found gently bashing it wit a BIG sledge hammer did the trick...
tuko
As a matter of interest what difference to the car would it make having the roll bar offset due to the bent bracket ?Thanks. Neil Hej Neil, I hope you didn't damage it over here last summer. I would think that with the offset, you might be putting a constant twist on the roll bar at all times, rather than letting it go back to it's natural state of no stress. If anything it might make the ride firmer. Todd.

Thanks, I will have another go this weekend with a decent sized hammer then. Hej Neil,I hope you didn't damage it over here last summer. Hi Todd, No I think it has been like that for some time, Sweden is not to blame. My kids still go on about how good that SLRK meeting was. Cheers, Neil
rhydgte
One of my front ones is also bent like yours!
DrRob
I took mine off altogether to get better articulation off road. Combined with HD springs didn't notice any difference with them removed
