LR 127

Ok so whos got a 127?

I am going to see one next week and wondered if there was anything special i should look for other than the usual Defender problems?

It has a Nissan 3.5 turbo diesel engine fitted rather than the V8.

Using a sharp hammer test solidy the underside of the chassis, 127's have a plat welded the full length that covers up numerous drain holes yet allows water inbetween the two plates causing rot.

Rear body crossmember is worth checking (like a SW one) but apart from that i cant remember anything other different from the normal things to look for.

Given that a 127 and a 130 are basically the same thing I would check the box mountings on the back to make sure they are OK, misalignment between the box and the cab isn't necessarily a bad sign as most of them leave the factory looking like that :rolleyes:
