task
I'm pretty sure you can change the prop for an earlier one and just take it out all together. I'm sure somone else will be along to clarify or deny this
forkrentfitter
you can use a discovery 200 rear prop, but you have to change the diff flange to 200 type also.
streaky
anyone know if u can buy a poly donut instead of the rubber type. I asked the same questions to one of the UK suppliers of the rubber doughnut...they said they would look into having them from Polyurathane. That was a few months ago and I haven't heard back anything...so at this point in time I think rubber is the only option. I asked a PU molding company here in Dubai if they can make them...they said the investment in making the mold is substancial and not cost effective for our small market...so I guess it's down to the big boys and distributors to get this done. karlo
you can use a discovery 200 rear prop, but you have to change the diff flange to 200 type also. You will need either the longer type 4 bolt flange STC4858 or a spacer ashcroft's number 539745, I'm told Paddocks also do the spacer. teabag
Or you can fit the later V8's prop and flange as they don't have the donut.
drkwack
Hi, sorry to sound like an idiot but why do you want to replace it
Guest DiscoTD4
Is there a safety consideration with these donuts, I notice on mine when you drop the prop from the gearbox end there are splits/cracks in the rubber. Should I also be looking at replacing it with a new rubber / poly one ? Cheers
maxtherotti
my new to me disco had a cheap pattern donut last march and when the clutch was just done again the donut was allmost gone all the way through (some big splits in that) so new genuine donut fitted and we will see how long this one lasts rob
