errol209
For the front heated windscreen. There doesn't seem to be a BSAU 7 standard code and its not on the diagrams up to and including 300tdi - I'd use white / black, same as the rear heated screen. Edit - Purple and slate on the TD5 diagrams, page 49.
mmgemini
Thanks.I knew it wasn't on the 300Tdi.

mmgemini
I thought this was a LAND ROVER forum. Not a euro box or a rice burner.
tuko
This is a Land Rover forum, not a social networking chat site, Mike. I found the very diagram that your looking for 2 days ago, if your unable to find it then drop me an email and I'll send it to you. ( Later tonight, I'm at work) Todd. ejparrott
For a Toyota Prius I believe (p.s. not getting at ejparrott - he raised an important point) 's ok mate.. I did look in my defender and discovery books first, but found nothing. Personally, I'd wire it the same black/white as the rear, with perhaps an addition of a little ring of coloured heatshrink just to identify it wherever it emerges and connects behind the dash, just to remind you in the future. Also, add a little diagram to your Haynes/Land Rover manual so you dont forget where you've wired too...and just in case you ever find yourself doing power-drain tests and forget about it... BTW...heated front screens...SatNavs.....

tuko
For the front heated windscreen. This thread should be helpful to you Mike, http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=19100&st=0 It's this diagram that I'm using. Todd.
mmgemini
Just a point The TD5 uses a completly different way of switching... I'm using two timer relays, one for each side. To be correct the screen should be wired from the oil pressure switch so that it only works when the engine is running...Well I think I know when the engine is running..... western
they should all be wired that way Mike, even the RRC's with heated screens use the same Timer relay.
tuko
I'm using Are right in assuming that this is for your 110 Mike ? I don't see the point of using two timer relays, but the 70Amp relay (PRC7303) could be replaced with two 30Amp relays, one for each side of the screen. Happyoldgit
So, is this a model specific or generic question?
mmgemini
If I use a timer relay for each side of the screen, there's little chance of me leaving the screen switched on..... When I worked on the FIAT 124 especialy people would leave the rear screen on and melt the fise. Steve. For my 110 BUT it could suit any Land Rover. Not a Toy though
western
it only needs one timer relay, don't see any point in spliting the operation, the screen should be clear before driving commences anyway.
tuko
there's little chance of me leaving the screen switched on..... That's the point of the timer relay isn't it not? By all means us as many timer relays as you wish, your just making a simple task more complicated for yourself.
mmgemini
Tod I still have to run a wire to each side of the 'screen.......
western
& one of those will be a Earth connection, I'd go for the minimum amount of wiring if possible, less to check/test if things to wrong in future & much simpler to fault find. tuko
Tod I still have to run a wire to each side of the 'screen....... Your absolutely right. Reading through your posts I think that you might have the 70Amp relay (PRC7303) confused with the timer relay (PRC6796). The 70Amp relay could be replaced with two 30 or 40Amp relays as a cost saving measure or having two clearly defined wiring "harnesses" to each individual element. Todd.
