V8 Radiator Mounts

Recommended Posts

Checking through the 110 parts book, it shows that the chassis should have some kind of brackets in order to mount the radiator.

As shown in the pic below, my TD5 chassis has nothing. What do i need to do / buy in order to fit the V8 radiator?

Sorry for the blurry pic - but you get the idea...

I dont have the top brackets for the rad yet. I had arranged to get a V8 rad with the oil cooler attached but the deal fell through.

Yes i believe the pins you see will be for a TD5 rad. Im not sure if i can use the TD5 rad. The reasons being im not sure if it has a big enough capacity to keep the RV8 cool enough, and does this rad have an oil cooler.

I had originally planned in having an oil cooler for the engine and tranny.

I'll be sticking a TD5 rad in on my Audi motor.

Its easily the same size as the original Audi rad, and that has no problems keeping 340hp worth of V8 cool.

The main difference i can see is the TD5 unit is a modern aluminium rad, compared with the old Tdi and V8 rads that are copper construction and much less efficient.
