Jimmy Two-Jacks
Hi, I have been thinking about making an under-seat toolbox to go below the drivers seat of my 90 that is currently just a gaping hole looking down on the fuel tank. I have seen this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Land-Rover-Defender-Tool-Box-Assembly-MXC5746-/270940145066?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f154a85aa#ht_500wt_949 on a well known auction site and wondered if it would fit. My seat-box on my 90 is one from a 300tdi I converted to fit my 200tdi does this make a difference? Cheers J2J
Retroanaconda
I think it's generally fuel tank or tool box, not both! You might be able to custom make a shallow one to fit, but there isn't much space above the tank.

western
hardly worth the effort with the fuel tank under the seat plus access to tank sender unit will be severely restricted if a stowage box is rivetted in on top.

That's the conclusion I have come to. I might look at something in the back instead. Cheers J2J
muddy
How about a shallow one to go under the middle seat?
Snagger
How about a shallow one to go under the middle seat? Have a look here: http://www.nickslandrover.co.uk/archives/1807 That should work on a defender too, but measure the vertical space first.
