Quagmire
Does anyone have any tips on getting the bottom nuts on the front shockers? I dont have quite enough thread to get the nut started and so need to compress the bottom most bush somehow... Any tips? Cheers
stuck
Can't you Jack the axle up a bit? That's what I've always done.
mmgemini
Ah yes, not enough thread... What I did was to fit an old bush then take it out and put the new one in a couple of days later. That allows the other bush to compress a bit.
Boris113
Had this problem with my rear pin-pin shocks the other day, lots of pissing around with a jack and hanging off the shock had the nut on eventually. Harry
vulcan bomber
Use decent shocks.. I've never had this problem with vehicles when fitting decent shocks.
NickMc
Undo the turret so you can put it in at an angle
mmgemini
Use decent shocks.. I've never had this problem with vehicles when fitting decent shocks. So why don't you think Land Rover Genuine parts aren't decent ? LOL
vulcan bomber
So why don't you think Land Rover Genuine parts aren't decent ? LOL Because they have a Land Rover badge on..... I've fitted Koni's, Armstrong and Terrafirma shocks to different Land Rovers and never struggled with getting the bushes and nuts on. The terrafirma shocks bottom pin is very long i've seen bottom pins bent because they've hit the axle case.
elbekko
See if you can get some pliers on the shock through the spring and force it down, if needed with some help from a mate. Also check that both bushings are correctly seated.
