Guest
I used to have them fitted in my old defender, they were ok but not the best. Jason.

Orgasmic Farmer
I have a nice set of leather Recaros from a Cossie Saphire in mine. Very comfy. I did relocate the batteries to under the rear wheel arch (110) so being fixed base is not an issue.
FridgeFreezer
Have you looked at the Mud Rails to raise / change the angle of the seat? Standard defender seats are far more comfy than they have any right to be. Failing that, old Metro/Maestro/Montego (also probably some Rovers & LDV's) seats have flat bottoms and can be fitted. gruntus
Check this thread to see the Audi seats I fitted http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=78477&st=20#entry672214

Blackfiesta123
Thats a shame im 5ft 11 and made some rails and that transformed it for me. I have long legs lol. We put honda civic seats in a series 3 wasnt that great. Youv got to get the angle right cause of the seatbox. are your seats old? have heard the refurb kits make all the difference. I put in the rear seats from a discovery once to see what they would be like and it was really comfy but i didnt bother in the end just made some rails. Disco-Ron
Thanks for the picture. My truck has only done 55k, and my seat base is new, and the back in vgc, I'm an upholsterer by trade, so refurb would be easy if needed, but its not . . . David Sparkes
I recall being told that seats from a SMART two seater were very good, IIRC they were fitted in a Lightweight. Because of the small size of the vehicle, and it's lack of power, they are heavily shaped, but slim. I've never used them, even in a SMART car, but I have met an owner who found them very comfortable. HTH
Disco-Ron
Thanks David, i've actually sourced a pair of old rover 214 sei seats, half leather and they have side bolsters like a recaro, and lumbar adjustment... just need to fit them when they arrive.. Cheers.
yalan
I found mgf seats very comfortable... In an mgf! So i've got a set in the loft ready to fit soon. Images of someone elses install here at the end of p2. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/rover-200-216-seats-defender-176937-2.html Very thin as you've said & very cheap on the bay. Dave 63
Hi all, This is all new to me, but I was wondering if anyone can help. Is it possible to fit the two leather front seats from an rx7, and if so is there much modifying to do. My one other question would how do you access the battery under the passenger seat. Any advice would be appreciated Dave63
TheKeymeister
I'm just in the process of looking into new seats, the big factor seems to be the seat base thickness at the front, if they are too thick you won't get your legs between the seat and the steering wheel. This problem can however be sorted out by altering the seat box so it is flat and lower. Fitting wise depends on the individual seats but some modification is usually required. As for getting to the battery you either need to relocate it or add an isolator switch and/or andersen connector to allow jump starting.
