smokinv8
Im fed up scrabbling around in the pitch black inside my rag top 2a and want to fit an interior light. I want something that doesnt look out of płace in an olive drab interior, and thought about maybe using a convoy light like my Sankey trailer has as a number plate light. Any thoughts or other suggestions welcome. Some of you must of wired something in?

artwigwa
I put one of these in. Doesn't look out of place fixed under the dash top between the vents, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280593245671
simonb
I used a cheap number plate light from a motor factors (or use a series 3 one) mounted to the windscreen frame and a toggle switch.
snailracer
I've got a defender one (like the ebay link above) in my soft top S3. I made a bracket out of a sheet of ali and bolted it to the windscreen through the rear view mirror holes. I will try and get a picture up later. Jonny five
I just bought one of these, makes it easier to find the door lock in the dark too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clarke-BBC-5-Baseball-Cap-With-Led-Light-/400306599912?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5d3421f7e8
tugboat
I use these. Marine grade internals and externals. I find they last well in boats and Land Rovers. http://www.chandleryworld.co.uk/catalogue/12v-round-stainless-steel-interior-light-fitting-140mm_p2205-1578.html
smokinv8
Thanks for all the suggestions and links. Ive realised that i overlooked a simple solution to keeping the light looking OE.... Fix it to the inside of the cubbybox ive been meaning to put in. That way when i open the hinged lid i can direct the light where i want it and also see in the box! Simples! Bowie69
Fit it with a pin switch and it can come on automagically for extra coolness
