scottwilson1912
Hello all So im in the process of trying to remove my front prop, as the U/J is badly worn...So i had a nose under there and managed to remove 3 of the nuts but the rest look like they have been on there for ever and no amount of spannering will shift them, Now if i cut the front bolts of with a grinder they can be replaced easy enough but the transfer box end the bolts are captive in the flange, 2 of these bolts are rounded off and need replacing but how do i get new ones through the back of the flange to go through the prop??.....Help
Simon Smith
Once you have cut thee bolts off and got the prop off, you will have to undo and remove the flange to change the bolts. I would chage the oil seal while you have it off too.
Boydie
You should be able to get a hydraulic nut breaker to fit and split the nuts without damaging the bolt.

gadget
I've always wanted on of those, might get one for this new truck, think i might need one! I've got the cheap manual nut splitter and used it today to remove a stubborn castle nut. Wonderful devices

There's a Difflock propshaft tool', do a google, makes changing props a doddle, even with rounded nuts.
