Tom17
This has happened twice now in a year only had that car a year but surly this should be happening so frequently is this just bad luck both cables were brand new on
Tanuki
Check the engine-to-chassis earths! If the earth goes high-resistance the starter-motor current will find its way from the block to the chassis by the next available path. If this is the throttle-cable it heats up and the nylon inner lining melts, causing the cable to stick/bind. If you're really unlucky they can glow red-hot. landroversforever
Have you checked it's not the pedal sticking? The limit screw on my pedal was catching on the footwell mat.

jbs
I would still check at a stand still with the engine off to see if the pedal sticks to the floor mat as I've had this once or twice in my 15+ years of owning land rovers The floor mat moves forward allowing the pedal to be trapped when you floor it as the mat gets kinked up at the bulkhead end of the footwell John
